That puts the GM in a pretty tough situation, no?

I don't think it will have any effect on what will happen to Iverson.

Why bother trading him anyway? If they don't trade him they will never win a championship and if they do trade him they will never win a championship. Might as well keep him to appease the fans.

They should have a "Trade Chris Webber" rally instead.

Doesnt put him in a tough position. Billy King needs to put a winner on the court. If that means dealing AI then you gotta do your job.

They should trade him in order to start the rebuilding process now as opposed to 5 years down the road.

Trading AI won't produce a playoff team.
Depending what they'd get, the future wouldn't be bright either.
Look at the Sixers' past, they never did well after trading their best player.
Look at teams nowadays, its still not always working out for the better...

exactly. We wouldnt get $hit for him. Look at the Shaq trade and how the Lakers went from championship contender to not even making playoffs to barely making it with possibly the best player in the league and last year possibly the best coach of all time. We wouldnt be getting any1 of lamar odom or caron butler's calibur so there is no point. Plus, we don't have a "kobe bryant" on our roster when we trade ai.

AI loves Philly and Philly loves AI...the only ones who seem to want him traded are people who aren't fans of the team in the first place, so why get rid of him? The only people who can do better with that team are people who are NOT going to be traded (Wade, LeBron, Duncan, etc...) so i see no point

A lot of people are saying that the goal of a GM is to win games. No, the goal of a GM is to make money, its just that in most cases this is done best by winning. AI IS a money maker though, so you have to give the people what they want, and thats AI

The Sixers are just spinning their wheels at this point. If Iverson stays, they will get no closer to a championship. If he leaves, at least they can start rebuilding and going in a different direction.

I can understand, as a Philly fan, loving Iverson and wanting him to stay and blah blah blah but he's done all he's going to do there. Trade him and look to the future.

i wonder... if Houston had made a "don't trade Gay" rally, would it be confused with a gay parade?
