Exclamation knicks Trade for Kobe?

Now that Jerry Buss said that he would trade Kobe Jones provided he got "equal value:"

1. Do you think the Knicks would make a run at Kobe?

2. Who would they trade?

3. Who should'nt they trade?

4. And do the Knicks have enough to make the trade and retain enough to still be competitive?

Zach
Jamal
Renaldo/Chandler
Mardy
1st round pick.

For
Kobe Bryant
Ronny Turiaf.

We now have
Eddy
Lee
Quentin
Kobe
Marbury

Nate
Houston
Chandler/Balkman
Ronny Turiaf

They get a group of Young talent. A 4 that plays with Bynum and a borderline franchise player in Zach. Jamal will have room to score a lot of points there. Mardy would play well off the bench with Javaris Critt.

Balkman is Balkman..I shouldnt have to explain.

No feedback until now, but as most people on this board don't like the Knicks i will take that as a positive thing :)

Knicks:

Jones
Bryant
Q.
Zach
Curry

and a really decent bench.

Zeke DO IT!!!

Won't happen. Knicks would have to give up every one under 25, AND throw in years of picks AND money, and still not be close.

Marbury, Curry and Crawford, etc. are too much from a Knick standpoint to give up, IMHO. Although Zeke might agree to give up either Marbury or Crawford, and possibly even both -- I do not think he would part with Curry too. Jerry Buss, might not agree to that even if Isiah was willing, because the Lakers would then become the new Knicks.

Zach, Jamal, Renaldo, Chandler, Mardy and a
1st round pick would not be acceptable to LA as "equal value," IMHO.

Especially since their are concerns over Z-Bo's off-court conduct. Even though the last package gives two very good players and some good prospects, I do not think it would not be enough to get Kobe, who is arguably the best player in basketball today.

I doubt that the Knicks have the personnel or the desire to break up this team to get Kobe. The cost would be too great, even if that was possible.

If Zeke can get a Z-Bo deal It would have to favor NY. unloading expiring contracts, who knows he might pull it off in Feb.

This really has gotten kind of old to me.

Any team that acquires Kobe will be getting an immediate steal.

The only possible exception is if a Dirk, Lebron, Wade, or Melo -type were inlvolved.

Kobe is the best player in the NBA. There is no argument on that.

Zeke would have the right mind and give up anyone on the Knicks if it meant a prime Kobe coming to NY.

L.A. would look more to youth if they made a deal paired off with star-type quality.

Very few teams can possibly meet that end. The Knicks don't.

Even still......how can you get equal value for the "best".

You don't. That's my take on it.

IMO from LA's standpoint any deal involving Kobe would have to include Curry(close to becoming an elite C) , Crawford(perfect combo guard for triangle), Lee(excellent player who makes little), Balkman(long tenaciuos rebounder and defender who also makes little) plus draft picks and maybe cash. Thats a high price to pay but you are talking about the best player in the NBA. Not to mention the Lakers may be looking to dump Radmonovic's contract as well.

Marbury
Bryant
Richardson
Zach
Morris

Nate
Houston
Nicols
Collins
Jeffries
Radmonovic
Rose
Jeffries
James
Jones

Dont put anything past Zeke,he'll trade his grandma if it helps him win. Plus he has a chance to go down in history as the man who brought Kobe to MSG.....and LA will not want to deal Kobe to a West coast rival. I think if does happen Zeke would try and also get Artest and B miller to plug into the starting 5 as Sacto will salary dump once they start 5-20.

Marbury
Kobe
Artest
Zach
B Miller

Nice.....

But who knows,ChiTown or NJ will probably get him. Thorn would Definitely deal any combo of Vince, Williams, Jefferson, Kristic, and Boone for Bryant. What better way to start off new team in Brooklyn?

Here is a trade the Knicks can do.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...3~13&te=&cash=

Plus it will let the Knicks keep Eddy and Zach for Isiah.

PG-Marbury
SG-Bryant
SF-Richardson
PF-Randolph
C-Curry

Unless your playin in NBA Live theres no way this can work. There arent even enough basketballs for Zach and Eddy to be happy so how can Bryant also fit it. We gotta build CHEMISTRY with time and the right players in the right spots to make an impact. Your not gonna bring Kidd to a team to score, Tmac to a team to pass. You gotta make ur superstars the BEST they can be.
The trade i posted b4 allows, Kobe and Eddy to do what they do best. Score in their range. Marbury will facilitate and be the second option(on the perimeter). Lee will be in a position to get minutes and do what he was born to do Rebound, Run the Floor, Pass from the key and make some defensive plays. Q(when in shape) will defend the best player on other teams(basically get lit up) and hit spot up 3 pointers.

What do NY fans think?

Curry
Crawford or Q. Richardson
prospects/salaries

for

Bryant
Brown (gotta take garbage from LA to make it happen)

I really like a starting lineup of

Marbury
Bryant
Richardson
Randolf
James/Brown(he might be better in the east)

Randolf would own the paint in the East and Kobe would have a better shot at the playoff than he does in the West with no trades, and keep a big market spotlight. NY Outlook: draft Centers and Defense for a while.

Forget Kobe wearing a Knick uniform soon!

Kobe does not want any part of the Knicks now since the sexual harassment case.

Even if KJ changes his mind, the Knicks cannot make a workable trade for Kobe and still retain enough to be a contender, so Kobe won't want to come here.

So far, the knicks don't look like a contender without Kobe.

Kobe does not want to be carrying a poor team in LA, so why would he want to come here to do the same thing?

After watching the last two games, I feel the knicks need a Jason Kidd type point guard to make the offence go and that should be its first priority.

I'd be happy with just a "creative" point guard. Some one who can move the ball around and break the defense down for a pass out to an open shooter from the arch. It'll never happen.
