Default Let's talk Scola, Starting PF?

What do ya' think about Scola, I mean he had an outstanding game on Thursday agaisnt that Greek team.

He's a great finisher around the basket, he's got some moves on the post, and he can spot out and shoot the litle jumper, although that's his weakness.

Do ya'll think he might start at PF, or will Adelman let him come off the bench?

Scola will log a lot of minutes at PF and some at C when the team needs to go small, but Hayes will start and Scola come off the bench because Scola has more offensive game than Chuck. Offense is needed off the bench when TMac or Yao sits. Just look at the second half vs NO. He also needs more comfort in the rhythm of the NBA game vs Europe.

Not neccessarily. Especially in our loaded situation right now, with James, Wells, Head coming off the bench, I don't think so.

Scola's an awesome player,he was great back when he was at Argentina,he's been great during Pre-Season,so I think he's gonna be an awesome player, I really hope Adelman keeps him as PF but I think thats gonna be Hayes's job for now and Scola's gonna come off the bench.

Are any of you guys worried about rebounding? Rockets don't have any of these 11-12 rpg guys, just Yao's 10 and 5-6 from Chuck and Scola is a big question mark rebounding every night vs NBA players

Why Scola only played 9 min. this first game? Is he injured or something?

Naw. He just got called for some silly fouls. They were obvious fouls, and Adelman took him out. He got three fouls in his limited playing time. The Lakers also went with Bynum/Kwame/Mihm/Turiaf combinations that would require a stronger rebounder and defender which is what Chuck Hayes brings.

It could have also been how Adelman assessed how Scola performed in preseason and camp. He has to get adjusted to the rules and avoid silly fouls.

nothing to do with rules,he was the same in europe always in foul trouble!I think he should be used more often.if he plays 25mins a game he will average 12 points and 8 rebounds guaranteed!

Didn't he score a career high 22 points a couple weeks ago, and then tie it again recently?

Scola is doing amazing, he is doing really well for a rookie.
