"All rumors and several sources point to Kobe Bryant's time in Los Angeles ending soon. Despite talk of the Chicago Bulls as a possible destination for Bryant, the Dallas Mavericks have moved up as a prime candidate to make the deal and acquire Bryant. The Mavericks have the players to trade for Bryant in Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse and Jason Terry but also an owner in Mark Cuban who doesn't mind having a high-profile player like Bryant.- Cleveland Plain Dealer"
If this rumor is true, it seems like dallas would have nobody besides Kobe, Dirk & Harris left. I think it would be fair to say they would unquestionably be a top duo in the nba, so with that do you think this is a bad move by dallas if this is true? Is it enough to get a championship & get past the spurs? What about the lakers & what they're getting?
Let's just put these Dallas Mavericks rumors to rest for now.
It's impossible to do this trade because Josh Howard has a Base Year Contract this year in his salary which makes his contract hard to trade and Jerry Stackhouse can't be traded until December because he was just signed not too long ago.
I don't think Kobe Bryant is getting traded anytime soon.
Taking away those three players, from the Mavs, is taking away an All-Star, your sixth man, and one of your top scorers. It just wouldn't work out. I don't see Cuban doing this anytime in the future.
