Default Detroit 91, Miami 80

Nice Opening win for Detroit last night in South Beach. They weren't particularly impressive through 3 quarters but they locked things down in the 4th.

Tayshaun Prince had a career high 34 points and matched a career high with 12 boards. He was 13-23 from the floor.

Other notables...

-Rip Hamilton missed the game due to family issues and rookie Aaron Afflalo took his place in the starting lineup, playing 14 minutes

-Chauncey Billups had 19 points and 11 assists

-Shaquille O'Neal was held to just 9 points on 4-6 shooting

-The score was tied 62-62 nearing the end of the 3rd quarter but the Pistons broke things open with a 12-0 run, taking a 74-62 lead on their way to victory

Detroit (1-0) is at Orlando (1-0) next...

Great showing from Prince, though the heat are insanely weak at SF so it wasn't too hard for him. But still, huge game for him

Great game by Detroit. I was suprised to see Prince come out that strong, but like you guys said Miami is weak at that position. He really is the difference often times for Detroit.
