Realistically, you can't prognosticate the NFL anymore. At the beginning of every NFL season, teams start fresh and there's hope and confidence instilled into every squad that "anything can happen" ... but at the end of the day you can still foresee the good
teams from the bad
teams - or at least we thought so.
Special teams are more valuable than ever. You still have a handful of exceptions like the Pats and Colts running over everyone, but anyone
can still lose on any given Sunday. As good as the Cowboys, Chargers, Panthers and Seahawks are, they've all been exploited and endured more than 20+ point losses this season. Teams such as the Packers and Steelers, division favorites, have earned many of their wins by a field-goal or less.
Anyone can win on any given Sunday as well. Actually, more than expected for some teams. After the Giants fall to 0-2, everyone
writes them off with absolutely no shot to win anything. Hope you were using a pencil instead of a pen. They're the hottest team outside of Indy and NE right now. Everyone laughed at Kitna's ten wins claim at the beginning of the season. If that isn't enough, not even Cleveland fans themselves expected a mid-season winning record for their Browns.
Unlike MLB and the NBA, you just can't call shots in the NFL anymore. Why even try?
