Pg play has killed us tonight. Lue is 1-9 and Acie is 1-5.

Everybody check out Josh Smith's statline from this game. Say the following out loud

2 3's, 4 blocks, 5 steals, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, 18 points.

if you say it out loud, the EIGHTeen obviously works better... or you can use TO's as the 3, cuz he had 3 of those.

2 threes
3 TO's
4 blocks
5 steals
6 assists
7 rebounds
18 points

silly good by Josh

Is his shooting % for the season over 35% yet?

That statline doesn't mean anything.

I'm not a fan of his shot selection but I'm sure a lot of that can be due to not having a single competent PG on the roster as well.

Smith has a lot of belief in himself, too much at times. He is a risk taker that makes things happen. Sometimes one of those things is making me scream at the TV.

However the Hawks need him because he brings so much energy to the game.

He has been bringing the ball up after a defensive rebound trying to lead the fast break for a year now with predictable results. Tonight he FINALLY started outletting to a pg instead. Hooooo------raaayyy!

If he could just be smarter and more conservative with his ball handling he could really take his game to a high level. I can take a few bad shots from him but he needs to take better care of the ball.

Our pg play was horrible tonight. I am keeping my fingers crossed about Law.

Their defense isn't bad right now. It is the offensive execution that is really hurting them. Way too many turnovers and poor shot selection.

We just played 3 playoff teams geared to stop him and JJ averaged 21.6 ppg shooting 49%.

Sure he started 1-6 in the first half. However he heated up in the second. He was 5-8 in the second half before he took two desperation shots. He started 1-5 last game against Detroit and finished 9-17.

wasn't saying Hawks have bad defense. they limited NJ to 87 points. not that NJ is an offensive juggernaut, but that is good defense overall. not to mention playing the passing lanes effectively and forcing quite a few turnovers.

I am just referring to Hotlantadude's referring to how the Hawks make "nobody players" look good

Jason Maxell for Detroit had a big game against them the other night. Then some 3rd stringer PG for Dallas came in and had a good game against them. Now Antonie Wright. These players aren't the cream of the crop for sure.
