Default I think Mchale is secretly working for the Celtics

Even though Al is a great player i seriously think they could have gotten alot better with the trade the lakers could have gaven them...come one lamar who could have given yall 15-18 points per game with 10 reb,5 assist...and he could have helped brewer get better cuz lamar loves to pass...and Andrew Bynum is better then all the players Celtics gave up other then Al...he gives the lakers 10 points and 10 reb...in very limited minutes...any smart Gm would tell u lakers were willing even to give more...plus lakers would have to part with more players to make the salary work but Andrew Bynum and Lamar together is way better then Al and the bunch of bench players the celtics gave up...tell me who wouldnt aggree with this line up

PG- Foye
SG-Rahard
SF-Brewer or Gomes
PF-Odom
C-Bynum

and even Kwames expiring contracts...or whoever they wanted other then Kobe...

Agreed, that team is capable of getting a way better record than what minny is getting now and Farmar or Crit would have been included. That's a hella good young team.

Agreed, it'd be a pretty talented roster. Odom might be able to step up his game being the star veteran. Bynum would give alot of size down low and we all know how important a competent center is in this league. Who's Rahard, though? Rashard Lewis, perhaps, or Rashad McCants?

The whole point of McHale making this trade was to rebuild with young talent. Lamar Odom is hardly a young talent and hasn't played a complete season since coming into the league due to injuries. Jefferson is putting in nearly 20 points (19.8) and 11 rebounds a game. Lets not forget that he's still only 22 years old (23 in January) and still has tons of room to improve. Gerald Green was another young talent that he wanted though he hasn't worked out in Minny yet, but he's still only 21 years old with lots of potential. Theo Ratliff gives them a big expiring contract which is essential to the rebuilding process. They'll most likely end up with a top 3 pick next summer and have a chance to get a guy like Mayo, Rose, or a guy named DeAndre Jordan who would make the most sense. A 7 foot center with athleticism and has been compared to Dwight Howard. This team would have a nice line up for 2008/09 with Foye, Green, Walker, Jefferson, and Jordan.

Oh duh my freaking bad, I confused you with MasterDurant24, I think I just came from the Minny board and read one of your posts, and then went to Seattle and still had the picture of you in my head or something.

Pretty much. In fact, I'd say it was better than any other trade idea they received.

I think Lurch is still in cahoots with the Celtics.

Just look at Bynum right now....he is posting double doubles in limited minutes.
And Lamar would be a legit starter on the T-Wolves.

The only good thing Lurch did for the T-Wolves on this trade was send KG out East so they dont have to face him 4 times. Besides that....STUPID!!!!!

He let old loyalties ruin the T-Wolves.

Jefferson is a really nice young big, but I believe Andrew Bynum will surpass him. His potential is amazing. Remember, this guy only played like 20 games of high school ball before getting drafted. Guys like Al and even Dwight Howard were high school all americans, which meens they were groomed for the NBA for years. Went to all the big camps, got the best possible coaching, played in all the all american games etc. Bynum had none of that, so his first 2 years in the NBA were basically spent learning how to play the game.
He's basically 3 years younger, and I think in 3 years he will be superior to Al, probably as good as Howard.
In the long run, Laker fans will be glad theykept Bynum.
But Al will be really good.
The real mistake was McHale passing on the Chicago trade last draft.
The Bulls offered Gordon, Deng, Chandler (who they had at the time), The #2 pick in last years draft (which became LeMarcus Aldridge) and the NY pick they had in this years draft (which became Joey Noah).
That's the deal the Wolves should have taken.
Think about that young talent:
C-Chandler (great D and rebounding)
PF- Aldridge (great post scorer- will be as good as AJ)
SF-Deng/ Brewer
SG-Gordon/McCants
PG-Foye
With Noah off the bench as well.
I agree, he does secretly work for the Celts
