Thumbs up Al Jefferson: Trade for Blocks?

I had the first pick in my league (took KG) then I had to wait till it came back to me, at which point Duncan, Howard, Yao, Gasol, Camby (am I missing anyone else?) were all gone. The top two centers left were AlJeff and Okafor...I wanted Okafor in the 4th but I missed him by two picks. I took AlJeff #22 or 23 overall.

AlJeff is getting plenty of points and rebounds which make him very attractive to people in trades--they may not notice that he isn't blocking shots at all.

Should I try to move him, or will his blocks come back up?

i'm guessing his shots will come up. There is a serious lack of talent there now so no one is stealing his action.

My Team:

Joe Johnson
Rudy Gay
Randy Foye
Manu Ginobili
Vince Carter
Kevin Garnett
Ron Artest
Kelenna Azubuike
Al Jeff
Brendan Haywood
Jamaal Tinsley
Yi

I'm ok in shotblocking with KG, Haywood and the recently added Yi. The reason I brought up an AlJeff trade is because people tend to overrate points and rebounds, i was thinking of making a run at a more all-around type player, maybe AK or Gerald Wallace. Thoughts?

Brad Miller is available in FA--he could be a solid pickup for that second Center spot. EDIT-- ratliff is also available... not sold on an old center on a young team though

If you can work a 4 player deal involving your aljeff and someon'es gwall (he's slumping so his stock is low)... i think now would be a good time.

It's still early in the season. I don't see why Jeff's blocks wont go up. He was like 1.6 last year.

I was thinking the same thing about Tyson, but he went and got 3 blks last night. Things can change in a hurry. Jeff will also be a monster in FG% and he is getting a steal per game for a C.

His block will not go up, because he physically doesn't have the skill or body to produce swats.

AlJeff is lucky to pimp out 1 blk a night.

AK for Al jeff is decent since you are locked in at rebounds. If AK can continue his current pace of assists, rebs, stl, blk...that would be good.

Well, he hd 1.6 blks last season. So, obviously he has the potential to do that. I have Jefferson in my league and I would never deal him for AK.

AK springs together a few good games and all is forgotten? There is a reason people avoid him on draft day.
