i was thinking about this again i would add a young Alonzo mourning when he was playing with the Hornets

Also Marcus Fizer even though he was undeersized was a bad ass when he was in the league for a couple of yaers.

Forston was hated for being an enforcer and now people actually miss them?

Fizer wasnt an enforcer. He only cared about offense.

Mourning, NOW actually is somewhat of an enforcer. TY Thomas could become one. Ruben Patterson, Stephen Jackson are some players who actually play a similar role.

It's mostly foreign dudes now who retaliate. Varejao, Nocioni, Ginobili, Tim Thomas, K-Mart...maybe Artest, but he's more chucklehead than enforcer, in the BDiddy/Josh Howard class.

Difference is, the league has regulated out the bully type, so the cheap-shot artists are the only ones left.

Mourning is an enforcer, but he is an acomplished scorer so he sometimes doesnt get the title.
Ben Wallace is a tough cookie also.

K-mart is not an enforcer IMO. Oakley hammered him and made him look like a little girl one game, which leads me to believe he is not one at all, well at least not on Oakleys level.
I remember him calling him out about it after the game.

how about
greg ostertag or mark eaton (i dont think he was an in enforcer but more of just an intimidator with his size) but these guys are old school and not current players.

the league prety much got rid of the bully type style of basketball ever since the mid 90's sac kings came out with there run and gun showtime with jason williams at the helm. That's when everyone started watching basketball again and the league started marketing the league and a fast pace exciting "show"

I miss physical basketball.

these small run and gun teams aren't exciting to me like they seem to be to everyone else.

i'm also a huge fan of post play, which is also nearly extinct.

i'de trade the entire Suns alley-oop dunking roster in for a little Hakeem "dream shake" on the post.

what was allowed contact in 90s is now a foul. what was a foul, is now a flagrant. what was a flagrant, is now a suspension.

it's that simple.

but in early 90s that "enforcer" stuff and "thug ball" really got out of control and got to the point it became dull in the other direction. and now the league overreacted so we've got "wussy ball", flopping and FT fests instead of games.

Jarron Collins doesn't have the persona, but he sure fouls hard in the paint...

That's what you get after 7 years of playing for Coach Sloan. I'm sure if they let him come out on the court, at 65, he'd still get a flagrant on the very first possession.
