Dwight was pretty beastly this week. Sick game against Lebron and company including sinking 2 clutch FT's and then just dominating the Nets and his team beating the C's.

Allen Iverson, Denver Nuggets
Nov. 12 vs. Cleveland: Posted 37 points, eight assists, three rebounds and two steals in a 122-100 win over the Cavaliers.
Nov. 14 vs. Portland: Tallied 20 points, seven assists and two rebounds in a 110-93 win over the Trail Blazers.
Nov. 17 vs. New York: Registered 23 points and four assists in a 115-83 win over the Knicks.

So impressive. He played against two of the worst teams in the league. So basically it's how much games your team wins and not the actual competition.

Its about the number of team wins -- a 4 win week > 3 win week; in some instances a 3-1 week > 3-0 week...road trips and quality of wins are takekn into account.

Then its the quality of the stats.

D.Ho won because Kidd lost too many games and he beat the Celts.

AI's wins were not as impressive but Den's new winnink streak is impressive..

I could care less if LeBron's team won 1 game this past week, he should have been the player of the week. He did everything he could to help his team win games, just because Howard has a better team behind doesn't mean the award should go to him. I never understood why a player has to win games in order to win awards, this is a team game...5 on 5, if a player does more for his team then another player he should get that award regardless of their team record...otherwise just give the award to the team, like team of the week or something...these awards don't make any sense to me anymore.

I mean what LeBron did this past week is unparallel, he's hands down the player of week in the entire league in my book.

Winning is more important than -everything- else. Period. If you average 100ppg and never win a single game, you're just a loser. If you average 3ppg and never lose a game, you're a winner.

Me, I'll take 3 points and a win over 100 points and a loss, and that's just one more thing that separates the men from boys.

No offense but you make absolutely no sense.
So basically you'd take Robert Horry (A little over 3 PPG and 6-7 championships) over Karl Malone...

Do not worry Lebron James have an easy schedule this week, and i am sure he can win the NBA Player of the week in the next edition.

Congratulations to Allen Iverson and Dwight Howard they really deserve to be named the best player of their respective conference.

Dwight is a Beast probably the 2nd best bigmen in the NBA right behind KG this season.

Allen Iverson is one of the best SG of all time, and i think he will be an all star in the Western Conference the way he is dominating in both ends of the floor.

what would you take for yourself, is not the criteria for player of the week or any INDIVIDUAL award.

individual awards do not always equal team winning, and that's why they're called so.

Why are people whining about player of the week awards? It's not like it has any relevancy at all.

Because there are only a handful of people on the planet who care about it -- and you are amongst about 25% of them.
