Default Isiah Thomas Kicks Entire Team Out Of Practice

Quote:
A desperate Isiah Thomas kicked his entire team out of practice Monday. The Knicks' embattled coach was unhappy with their work habits.

BY FRANK ISOLA
NY DAILY NEWS

This Knicks team is going no where. They have a line-up of great players, but not players that you would want as a starting unit. The only gems the Knicks have imo are David Lee and Renaldo Balkman. Yeah I know they are role players, but these two players are hustlers. They give you everything you need in limited amounts of minutes. The starting unit is filled with ball hungry players who seem to be playing to pad stats instead of win. Its getting ridiculous. The fans are tired of seeing losers. Its time to make some real trades and fire Isiah.

Keep Lee and Balkman

The Knicks are so sad, I can't even laugh at them anymore. It's pathetic.

I just want to know what kicking them out of practice helps. Them half assing should have made him work harder with them. Isiah is confused and doesn't know what to do. He doesn't want to be fired because he knows he will never ever get another job in the NBA so he's trying his best but doesn't seem to know what to do.

Patrick Ewing should have been hired long ago to teach Eddy Curry about defense and rebounding.

Hubie Brown is the best thing that could happen to this team along with Jerry West.

To make this a respectable team I would:
-Hire a competent coach with a gritty defensive philosphy like Hubie Brown or an ex-player like Nate McMillan known for their defense.
-Hire a competent GM that wants to win.
-Trade Marbury to Cleveland, the guy is a headcase.
Quote:
Eric Snow
Larry Hughes

Stephon Marbury (1 year less than Hughes)
-Trade Zach Randolph to Washington, he doesn't fit
Quote:
Antawn Jamison (expirer)

Zach Randolph
2 x future 2nd Round Picks
Cash considerations
-Trade multiple players for Elton Brand
Quote:
Elton Brand

David Lee
Wilson Chandler
Fred Jones (expirer)
Malik Rose (2 years, same as Brand)
08 First Round Pick (top 3 protected, unprotected 09)
-Trade Nate Robinson and Jerome James to Seattle
Quote:
Earl Watson

Nate Robinson
Jerome James
$3 million to go towards James' contract
-Buy out Quentin Richardson's contract
-Sign Loren Woods and 3 other D-League players (Steven Smith, Brent Petway, Kevin Pittsnogle) who will actually play their asses off.

They get left with a lineup of:
CT: Eddy Curry/ Randolph Morris/ Kevin Pittsnogle
PF: Elton Brand/ Jared Jeffries/ Loren Woods
SF: Antwan Jamison/ Renaldo Balkman/ Brent Petway
SG: Larry Hughes/ Jamal Crawford/ Steven Smith
PG: Earl Watson/ Mardy Collins/ Eric Snow

Wit ha decent coach they can be a decent team next season.

It is that easy. The only hard trades to get going there are:
-Elton Brand (but right now the Clippers would take David Lee and the chance to land another lottery pick)
-Earl Watson (because Jerome James has to be in the deal)

This is a poorly constructed team with a starting lineup that features 4 of my least favourite players. Quentin Richardson is neutral.

If Qrich is neutral why would you waive him? The contract still counts for the cap and the two million you can save is definately not worth it for the Knicks.

Just drill his ass into acceptable shape.

I don't want a guy on the team that won't be playing any minutes.

It's either him or Jeffries that get the axe. It's a little redundant having both of them.

I remember during the offseason all the Knicks fanbois were saying that Z-Bo was going to tear it up in the East, that Starbury really was the best PG, Eddy Curry was NOT fat and was in great shape, etc.

Where are they now?

IT is finally getting it -as GM he was living in a GM cloud of how good his team was on paper. Then his first year as coach he rallied around this idea of "We're being positive" idea...and the only things that slowed the team down were uncontrollable tragedies (injuries) otherwise everything was great.

He is finally - after 3 years of constant losing -- seeing the black hole dead end team he has constructed...and he cannot see a way around it.
