i didnt get to see him much when he was in portland, but its pretty sad watching him on the knicks. he doesnt seem to have a go to offensive move, besides put backs and a shaky jumper, for every one he makes he misses 2 others. he puts up a ton of shots even when he isnt hitting them and he'll hold the ball until he gets double teamed, then make his move/or get stripped. the guy is still putting up numbers but so far theyre pretty deceiving.
im sure hes actually a better player than im makin him sound, but right now it doesnt really look it
Zach Randolph has been a complete hog this year, I don't think I've seen a player hog as much as him... he tries to fight through triple team - which really confuses me, because Knicks have got guys who can shoot the three...
That's not the real Zach, thats the Isiah Thomas coaching version of Zach.
In Portland he had close to the best offensive low post game in the league. His passing and recognition of doubles was awful, still is apparently(I avoid Knicks games as much as possible), but his scoring moves are nice and efficient. Probably struggling with a new offense, a lack of a PG, SG or SF and having to share the low post with Curry.
He doesn't play defense, he doesnt pass well, but he can flat out score and he rebounds pretty well or at least that was the Zach that played in Portland.
Randolph puts up good numbers in portland... becoz he was the only option back then... Roy was not much of a scorer, every possesion the rock goes to Randolph. plus he only put up good numbers against a team with a weak big man.
He gets decent numbers because he is a black hole. He is a horrible passer and usually when he gets the ball, a shot is coming next. He is a decent offensive big man. He has good foot work and a soft touch but his negetives are huge. No defense whatsoever, no passing skills, selfish all take away from him being a great player. He has the most deceiving stats in the NBA. Year in and year out he puts up good numbers, but he is far from a complete player and will never be on a winning team with him as the #1 option.
It seems like every player that comes to the Knicks, their career takes a turn for the worst.
basically yes. i watched a few POR games last year and he looked very very good. This year... you can tell that his head is just not int he right place and things collapse after not getting the mental aspect down. As for rebounds, not hard to get that when the Center rebounds like a SF and your team shoots like **** (Zbo is 2nd in O-RPG).
