Default Hawks Point Guard Situation

Right now, the Hawks' point guards are averaging a total 8.1 assists per game. They combine for a total of 15.9 points per game. Does anyone think that it is time to trade for a quality starter? The Hawks don't have a first round pick next year, courtesy of the Joe Johnson trade, and they already have a young kid in Acie Law. Do you think the Hawks should start Law for the rest of the season? He's not putting up great numbers, but they need someone to develop. Or, do you think they should try and trade for a guy like Jose Calderon?

I think Anthony Johnson is going to get traded eventually. Law is still the future of the Hawks, Lue brings defense and 3pt shooting veteran leadership. Speedy is just Speedy. I think the Hawks get one of the PG's from Portland or Seattle. I think they should get Steve Blake from Portland or Luke Ridnour from Seattle. Both of those teams have a load of PG's. Also Lue and Anthony Johnson have expiring contracts if I'm not mistaken and they are in their 30's and they will probably want to go to a contending team.

watching the game last night i was thinking -

Chris Duhon is the player the Hawks could use. Let him teach Law how to play the point. Duhon can then become his back-up. Duhon would be a great fit for a year or two with that young athletic bunch you have there in ATL.

and Deng and Noah really did a number on Josh Smith last night. I was suprised he got pulled with 4 min left in the game. you needed that kid to keep taking it to the hole. that is the way to close the gap in 15+ point deficits - get to the line and put points on the board with the clock stopped.

as soon as he does that late in games that Hawks team is playoff bound and he's an all-star.

Anthony Johnson has been doing very well lately. Hopefully he can keep it up for a while and rack up some wins. However, he is old, and I don't think he can keep it up an entire season. Acie Law needs to make major improvements in order for the Hawks to be competitive an entire season.

^Yeah. Anthony has done a very good job with Lue down with an injury.

I think the Hawk's should stick with Johnson for a good while.
