Default Was Ben Wallace more of an MVP than Tim Duncan in 2003

The guy was a beast. He even stepped up his game in the playoffs. Here are his stats from the playoffs.

Game 5- 14 pts/21 reb/4 stl/3 blk
Game 6- 20 pts/17 reb/5 blk/4 stl
Game 7- 7 pts/12 reb/5 blk/2 stl

Averages: 11.1 PPG/17.9 RPG/3.3 BPG/3.1 SPG

Round 2
Game 1- 1 pt/12 reb/4 blk/2 stl
Game 2- 7 pts/15 reb/2 blk/1 stl
Game 3- 6 pts/6 reb/3 blk/2 stl
Game 4- 7 pts/15 reb
Game 5- 6 pts/17 reb/3 blk/3 stl
Game 6- 10 pts/18 reb/5 stl/3 blk

Round 3
Game 1- 6 pts/22 reb/3 blk/3 stl
Game 2- 7 pts/19 reb/4 blk/1 stl
Game 3- 13 pts/15 reb/5 blk/1 stl
Game 4- 10 pts/13 reb/2 blk/2 stl

Averages: 9.0 PPG/17.3 RPG/3.5 BPG/1.8 SPG

Entire playoffs: 8.9 PPG/16.3 RPG/3.1 BPG/2.5 SPG

I know he didn't score a whole lot, but he did everything else. I really believe Ben should have won MVP in 2003.

MVP is a regular season award. Wallace has been rewarded with DPOY honors, which is more appropriate considering his contributions.

IMO, he's never been more valuable than Duncan, KG, Shaq, Kobe, Lebron, etc...

Agreed, there are too many others who are far better than Wallace. He did deserve the Defensive Player Of The Year, but he is so limited offensively he actually makes it harder on that side of the court. I think the rest of the Pistons helped to make him look better. Look at him in Chicago, they don't even want him there. The only thing he had going for him with heading over to Chicago was more money. Other than that his name will be tarnished forever now, he isn't getting the playing time he would like, and is being exploited for his limited offensive capabilities. I wouldn't be suprised to see him get traded as he is the only person on that team that has a big contract to trade for an all star.
