Default Re: Jordan never did what Lebron did?

LeBron WILL be great, but not as great as Jordan. Sorry, but it's true.

I could find them, but I don't have the time. But it's more than safe to say he's WELL on his way to eclipsing Jordans' individual achievements.

No need to for this thread, IMO.
many people have eclipsed Jordan and will eclipse him in terms of individual statistics and all-star appearances. Does that make them better than he was?

I still believe that Lebron James will surpassed all of MJ's Accomplishment, and set a new standards for being the best SF of all time.
Surpassing him in statistics yes, probable considering his age and also that he'll probably play for several more years.

However, "surpassing all of MJ's accomplishments" means that at worst, Lebron would be a:
15 time NBA All-star (probable)
3 time Olympic Gold Medalist (doubtful)
7 time MVP—(doubtful)
2 time Defensive Player of the Year— (possible, but still doubtful)
13 times All-NBA—11 times first team, 2 time second team
10 time All-Defensive First Team (very doubtful)
Named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (who knows, probably i guess)

12 scoring titles (possible, but I also doubt it)
7 NBA finals MVP. (very doubtful. MVP comes on the winning team)
Highest career scoring average—30.12 (maybe)
Highest career scoring average playoffs—33.45 (maybe)
Most consecutive games scoring in double figures—866 (doubtful)
Highest single series scoring average NBA Finals—41.0 (maybe but doubtful)

That was quite a hefty statement Lebron23. I'd put money on you being wrong.

There are exactly two (2) players in NBA history who have put up numbers better than Jordan for more than a single season (but Jordan overtakes one of them if you look at >3-4 peak seasons): Kareem and Wilt. That's all.

So I'm not sure where you get the idea that "many" people have "eclipsed" him in terms of individual statistics. No one in history has "eclipsed" Jordan's numbers. No one. Much less "many." Only one player (again, not "many") has more all-star appearances than him, too.

I'm not talking about all, but some. Jordan is not #1 in every stat category in history, relax Loki, LMAO.

Well, if you're talking about individual statistical categories, of course guys have passed him. He never led the league in rebounding, for example, or blocked shots. I thought you meant in terms of overall statistical production, in which case my point is valid.

If you read the 1st post, you'd see that the intent of this thread was to denounce the theory of "Lebron is on pace for the greatest statiscal season in NBA history and it's not even close" notions.

And being that you have a thorough knowledge of Jordan's statistics, you'd know that there are not a lot of overall categories that he is leading. In a sense of being high in a lot of categories yes, he is up there, but that's not even what I was saying. I was making the point that putting up the numbers will not mean that Lebron is >>> or even = Michael Jordan in any way shape or form until/unless he starts to reach his success in those other areas that I have mentioned.
