that would be a close one. I think the world would edge out US because they seem like they would work better together. Better chemistry, better passing.

For the US team i would take out chris bosh and replace with Boozer and replace AI with Chris Paul or Deron Williams.

If the US team got on a roll, they would win BIG

Usa need to concentrate in beating Greece or Argentina etc. before think in beating a World team.

Thats where he grew up and where he retains his permanent residence.

But he is from U.S. Virgin Islands, not British Virgin Islands.

The government made him a sweet deal, He doesn't have to pay taxes ever, but he has to do advertising for the islands in exchange, like commercials for tourism or something, i don't remember the details. The taxes would be from his business ventures there, he pays taxes on his income in US.

Duncan was a late bloomer because he didn't take up basketball till high school , thats why he was not really a dominant college player.

His dream was to be an Olympic Level Swimmer like his sister, both of his sisters were championship swimmers, but Hurricane Hugo destroyed his training pool, and he had to swim in the ocean and train there. He gave it up cause he was afraid of the sharks which are around those islands constantly, not really dangerous sharks, smaller reef sharks like lemon sharks and white tips mostly.

Reason he come to america to play ball and get a scholarship to college is kindof touching. His mom was diagnosed with cancer and passed away day before his 14th birthday, and before she died, she made him promise her he would graduate from college.

His only college scholarship offers were

Wake Forest
U Hartford
Providence College
U Deleware

Duncan is such a dork though, he has said he loves renaissance fairs and the fantasy role playing game Dungeons & Dragons.

Replace AI with De-Will...US wins EASILY! Way too atheletic for that front line. Bench is far more explosive. And the US team would bully them with pure strength. Everyone is quick to jump on the international bandwagon, but even the back court is a joke. You are talking about 2 of the 10 greatest guards ever to play basketball versus a continuously overrated Steve Nash and Manu Ginobili??? Come on! Playing with NBA rules, the US wins this game by double-digits easily.

How could you start Carmelo over KG?

Carmelo doesn't play defense, and leaves you slightly outmatched size wise, he would not even make my team.

US Team

Duncan/Howard/Amare
KG/Marion/Boozer
Lebron/Pierce/Tmac
Kobe/Wade/Redd
Kidd/D. Williams/Paul

US Owns the world team in every which way

in the middle of 1990, the Dream became nationalized to american. he was an american citizen. that's why he could play for the dream team.

Duncan was born as an american citizen. that virgin islands belongs to US territory. that's why he could play for the USA.

yeah, cause its not an advantage that those teams have practiced together since teenagers, international rules are different, and the US never has their full team except for the Dream team which made the world teams look like the knicks against the Celtics the other night, haha.

Duncan
KG
Lebron
Kobe
Kidd

Better on both ends than any world team

Dwight Howard
Marion
Pierce
Ray Allen or Micheal Redd
D. Williams

as a 2nd unit isn't bad

The US team will have about 15 of the 20 best players in the world, superior athetes, players who can play both ends, and have no weaknesses as a team.

Athleticism
Shooting
Passing
1 on 1 defense
team defense
rebounding
shotblocking
Perennial All-stars
All Nba defenders

That team could not even practice one time and beat the worlds, lol

Duncan could legitimately be listed as "World" IMO. It is true that he has played for the USA in International competition, but that was only because when he first played FIBA ball, the Virgin Islands didn't have a team. Due to FIBA rules, because he played for one country already, he can't switch to V.I. even though they now have a team. He even stated such publicly at one point, that he would love to play for the V.I., but he's not allowed to (although because of his sour time with the USA team the last time, he is now likely to never play FIBA ball for anyone ever again).
