I have read that Bosh is a GREAT outside shooter, and I'm being a dumbass to even question his ability to shoot from the outside. I figure a great outside shooter, that is beyond reproach, except by dumbasses, would be "automatic" as some have said - and wouldn't have games where he just plain misses alot of his outside shots.
The Laker game cited by the supporter above has him missing 5 of 11 from the outside. Wow - cracked that 50% marker. That's some GREAT outside shooting. Only a dumbass would poke holes in that.
How often do you watch Bosh? I've seen over 50 Raps games last year, and he's a very good consistent shooter.
Now IF you don't watch him on a consistent basis your opinion is pretty much invalid.
Hey dip****: I didn't attribute the quote to you. You're so used to getting bashed that you now think it's happenning even when it's not...nevermind, now it is. Learn to read, asswipe.
Your quote: "Never compare JJ to Larry Bird again, please."
who were you talking to, the USA Today guy? He ain't checking the message board to see what Kool-aid boy thinks about his article. So I interpreted it as taking a shot at me...especially since the name of the thread is JJ is Larry Bird?
From that website, 62% of Bosh's shots were jumpshots and he shot 50.5% over the course of the season taking that many jumpshots. How is that not a good shooter?...Anybody that has watched Bosh play knows that he's a good shooter. You just confirmed that you don't watch any games.
Finally, someone wants to argue - your stat is misleading, though. He missed 50% of his shots, so arguably, he only hit 12% of his "jumpers" and the remaining 38% were all his hits. you would imagine a much higher sat for dunks and layps.
But check this, while we're at 82games:
Highest FG% on 2-Point Jump Shots
Team Player FG% Pts/g
MIN Garnett .488 10.3
LAC Brand .470 11.8
DAL Nowitzki .457 11.3
NYK Marbury .452 5.5
SEA Allen .444 6.9
LAL Bryant .439 13.7
TOR Bosh .438 8.
I'll be the first to admit that that's pretty good...but a I've got two problems -- somebody told me that Bosh is the 2nd best shooting big man in the league -- that chart shows he's #4 among top scorers. I don't know where the B.Millers and LaFrentz' rank, I only know that he is better than Shaq and Duncan.
Aside from that, though, what does 82Games mean by "jumper"? Everything that's not a dunk or a layup.
Rememeber the int'l lane is wide. You've got to be a step out of NBA range. Meaning the nibblers that you can set up for a step outside the paint are not there in in'l. You have ot be yet anohter step out. Ewing had that kind of range, moreso than Robinson did.

We'll have to wait till he plays in the World Championships to prove you wrong. He's top 10 in the league in FG% on 2 pt. jumpshots for guys with considerable shot attempts, what other proof do you want?
Hopefully Bosh can have a good WC and show you rather than everyone trying to prove it to you.
A guy we are all forgetting about big man shooters is Charlie Villanueva. He defintiely ranks among the top 10 big man shooters IMO.
1. Dirk
2. Bosh
3. Garnett
4. Rasheed
5. Brand
6. Villanueva
7. JO
8. Krstic
9. Ilgauskas
10. Zhi Zhi Wang (joke)
1-9 was completely off the top of my head, and I guarantee there's some that don't belong. It only includes guys that can shoot as well as do other things. Not just big men that can shoot and do nothing else.

Have you ever watched Bosh play? He doesn't have any teammates to defer attention and he's hustling 22ppg on what? JUMPSHOTS.
So KG and Brand are as good or better. Fine. Still doesn't mean Bosh is a "questionable" midrange shooter. If you'd watch you wouldn't need stats. It's pretty obvious.

Now you have gone from claiming he can't shoot to dissing his game.
I just looked up on 82games.com and Wade doesn't even have a better midrange game than Vince Carter. This is for people who were putting him in top 3 in terms of mid-range games. Carter is a better shooter from anywhere on the floor.
if you look at all the comparisons....The Dream Team Players every single one Shot from the Outside better than there counterpart. The only exception was the Drexler Arenas comparison which was stupid.
