Default Can you beat Jason Collins 1 v 1?

Game to 11

1s and 2s with NBA 3 point range

Take backs on everything and loser out

I'm 5'10" 170 pounds with a pretty good jumpshot within 15 feet if not guarded.

I'd say if I get the ball first, I will score one point, then Collins will win 11-1 because of his size advantage

i'm imagining you are faster than collins. naturally, you're not going to score layups on him. but he might be reluctlant to guard you outside with the knowledge that you could then get around him and to the basket.

if you could hit a few outside shots, i think it might be a little closer.

i mean, i'd be rooting for you, anyway.

as far as i go, my shot is not very dependable. i'd go down like a sack of potatoes. lloyd daniels once beat me 11-0 at the atlantic club, although i was 11 or 12 at the time.

Yeah If i get the ball first I might be able to score 2-4 points
Once I miss or get rejected, he'll probably post me up and I cant do anything about that. If Im lucky maybe poke the ball away.

its funny that you posted this because my cousins grew up in cali and would play against the collins bros in the park, two on two. i don't know how true this is or at what stage in their basketball career it was, but my cousins would always win because they could shoot and were faster.

their dad would always be there watching their pickup games and critiquing them the whole way. i think anyone who has a jump shot and a little bit of quickness will beat twin.

I'm 5'11, 183. but pretty much even the worst NBA player would have a size and strength advantage over me. It'd probably be as VC and MTing said for me too. I may get a couple of baskets if he backs away from me on the perimeter and I can launch away, but once he touches the ball it's a wrap.

Im a million times faster then him but he's so much taller than me... all he would have to do is post me up.. i havent played in a year so my jumpers must suck, if he were smart he would just back up and let me shoot and then get the boards

I'd like to try him...

He'd probably win 11-5 or 6 or so... bu ti think i could lay with him, i have some size, used to play basketball everyday, and also football back in school. I'm 6'2 235. solid. nice jumper.

I'm 5'8 170. I'm not spectacular or anything but i've beaten a lot of people that are in the 6'1-6'4 range with my speed and shot making ability. However, Collins at 7'0 235 would destroy my ass unless I was parked at the 3 point line hitting all my shots and/or, baiting him out to the 3 point line and then running to the basket. With all of those factors in place, I'd say at best, Collins 11 Me 3 or 4. However, as soon as he grabs a board, he could just back me down all day with my only hope being to get some steals.

dumb and pointless.

from a superman story standpoint smallville should end now instead of bringing fall these gimmicks of evil Lana, amnesiac supergirl, crazy kryptonians on Earth before Krypton destroyed but somehow insisted on staying there to die, Lex Luthor turning good, etc....

of course, the fact that these storylines are seeing the light of day means season 8 is on the horizon (since Smallville is the CW's cash cow)

hah this is a hilarious post. But .. i Def lose to Collins .. i'm 5'7" and 175 lbs. Even though i'm in the best shape of my life. . . my shot has its ups and downs, but i can't play defense on a man that is almost two feet taller than i am. i'd lose 11-2.

Haha, nice.

Yeah, Collins would beat me pretty easily. A good foot and a half taller and more than twice as heavy as me. If I could somehow get him to miss a few layups, I could maybe score 2 or 3, but other than that, it's game over.

Now if only the fact that he can beat me 1 on 1 would make him a better player...

NBA 3 is a difficult shot.

i probably will never get the leg strength to shoot those in the flow of the game. but if I spot up and muster enough leg strength and follow proper mechanics, I can hit 'em.

but again, at maybe no better than a 33% clip, even open (though I probably won't airball or brick badly the other times)

Yeah, I agree, the storylines are kind of lacking this year. They need to step it up some and come up with something better. Evil Lana seems to be the main theme which isn't that interesting.
