Complain. Become a nuisance in general. Inform whoever you are dealing with that you have recently invested money in new games which you are now unable to play. Embellish, exaggerate, and lie if you so desire
In all likelihood, they'll make a few attempts to pacify you by saying the best they can do is a month of x-box gold.

If you want to fore go the hassle, it only takes 5 minutes to request a box for shipping.
I don't think the turn around time should be any longer bc of the holidays. Shipping was ups guaranteed 2-day both ways for me, and I doubt the service center is receiving any greater volume of bricked consoles.
I complained because mine took a lil while to arrive so i got 2 free games, 1 year of Live and a free 20gb hd! But I called so many times to complain because it almost too a month. But I know if you complain they will hook you up with something.
if it's not under warranty, you can try the towel trick. if u send it in around x-mas time, expect a delay.
Dude, don't try the towel fix. If will f*ck up your box. Yeah it fixes the red light temporarily but at the expense of your 360's health. I got the 3ROD about 5 months ago and I have a modifed xbox . Luckily, I was able to find a third party to fix it for $40. Works like a charm now.
