Boris plays well when he is the go to man and can play multiple positions and Marcus Banks just needs playing time. We've seen what he can do when giving it. (I miss him in Boston) Phoenix loves shooters and Damon could come in and knock down a couple for them and having Gooden to back up Marion would be great.

This trade happens, and the Suns are instantly a serious title contender.

Just don't see Diaw as a piece of Cleveland's puzzle. It doesn't exactly improve their team defense.

I really wouldn't like Diaw's contract if I were the Cavs, but Marcus Banks might help the Cavs and Diaw can still produce like 05, looks good for both teams.

His minutes have steadily decreased each season as well as his shot attempts.

If Diaw is going to make some type of effort to earn his 9 mil per year salary he needs to go to a team where he can become a core player and average 35 mpg.

His shot attempts would go up and his numbers would go up.

On the right team, getting the right minutes:
16 PPG/7 RPG/5 APG

He'd be great in New Jersey.

Phoenix:Jason Collins,Bostjan Nachbar
Nets:Boris Diaw
?????

Im sure NJ could replace his 3 point shooting by signing a 6ft8 3 point specialist from somewhere.
Theres so many guys who are Nachbar's height that can shoot 3's and do nothing else like Nachbar does.

This time last year Boris was a household name. Ok maybe not that much but he was a player that got props and praise. Now? Mofos aint even trying to type his name. He probably went too high in fantasy bball drafts too.

You must mean this time in 05-06, which was the only good NBA season he's ever had. Boris disappointed last season too.

Boris Diaw is on the block? I hear that...

I had some bad Mexican food yesterday, and I was on the block for 1/2 hour straight. It wasn't pretty....

If you take all the defensive aspects of the game out of the equation, Kirilenko and Diaw are pretty much the exact same players. Soft finishers around the rim with fairly mediocre jumpshots, but when given the chance to show it off, two of the best passers in the league. They aren't and never will be worth their contracts, but they're definitely worthy of roster spots for the simple reason that if you're moving without the ball, they're in the upper tier of guys who'll manage to find you more often than not.

I honestly think Diaw would do better on a different team. It's not like his game is about gunning at all. He is a good ISO player with great passing abilities and a wet jumper from 15 feet. He can't shoot the 3 and he rarely looks to finish unless he knows he's the best option on the floor.

His problem is he knows he's the 6-7th best player on this team and he takes it to the extreme. He passes up shots under the rim, passes wide open jumpers and doesn't take advantage of his many mismatches. It's like now that Amare is back and Hill is a big part of the offense he thinks to himself; "Gee, why should I shoot when they could instead." Back in 2006 he was much more assertive because he knew that's what the team needed.

Remember that Diaw average 14/7/6 at the center position with good defense in 2006.

Thats like saying if you take away the offensive aspects of his game Steve Nash and Smush Parker are essentially the same player. True, but such a manipulated comparison it has little validity.

And Kirlenko can, and does, play above the rim.

No, I'm not. He looked to have gained significant weight at the world championships in 2006 while playing for france, signed a big contract, and reported to camp last fall still very overwight. I could definately see a decline coming.

It's not about you...its about others. All you're telling me is you wasnt one of the ones still riding the Boris Diaw high. But dont act like it didnt exist this time last season
