I'll have to see it to believe it. Joe Dumars seemed intrigued when he brought Brezec and Hermann in, about the possibilities they could offer the team. Of course, that could have been just the right thing to do, but both players seem excited to be there, as well.
Without another trade, I don't see it happening.
Bringing Webber back means Brezec is almost certainly gone. It's no secret the team wants to move Flip Murray, and a few teams could use a combo guard expirer. He'll cost draft picks.
There's no rush to sign Webber from Detroit's perspective, unless we sign him to prevent another team from picking him up. We should wait as long as we can.
I think we should wait as long as possible too but I also think time is running out. It seems apparent he wants to still play and really wants to be in Detroit, but that doesn't mean another team couldn't try to snag him up. I think he's an asset to the team, and they could use the help. I would like to see him return right around the all-star break so by the time April comes around he isn't rusty and has fresh legs for a nice long playoff run.
That's a great point - if he's going to be valuable to anyone, he needs to be in game shape.
Who would you have the Pistons release, assuming we can't trade anyone?
flip murray. there dont seem to be mins for him and he only really plays well as a starter or 6th man IMO. You can never have too many bigs on the roster, and I dont think we know what we get from Herrmann or brezec yet.
