I wanted to explain something because I don't think a lot of people know this.
By suspending DJ for 6 games instead of the 5 game suspension that was given to Antonio Davis was actually for the benefit of the Mavericks.
There is a rule in the NBA rule book that states if a player is suspended for 5 or less games then he cannot be replaced on the active roster. However, if it is longer that player can be replaced. So this means that during the suspension the Mavs can activate Josh Powell and his 6 fouls. So instead of adding another game, it's really doing the Mavericks a favor.

Not it doesnīt, because Mbenga might actually be useful against Shaq, while Powell hasnīt played one serious play-off minute.
Not sure how having your 3rd best big man unavailable is good either way. Having him for one less game so that you have a guy who can give 6+ points away to Shaq whilst not actually stopping him is not a good thing. DJ could actually help them. Powell or anyone else cant.
Powell's 6 fouls for 6 games >>>>Mbenga's 6 fouls for 1 game.
It would be better to have Mbenga for every game, but its going to be a non-issue in the end. Dallas bbeat the Spurs and TD w/o using Mbenga for extended minutes...
He could do that hack-a-shaq or whatever it is called. He can just foul him once he gets the ball. Anyway, mavs are going to run. The same way it was done with spurs
