Ginobili Thomas

SAN ANTONIO -- Clippers forward Tim Thomas and Spurs guard Manu Ginobili were injured during the first quarter of their game Saturday night.
Thomas fell to the ground and was in obvious pain after appearing to get tripped up by another Los Angeles player. He was helped off the floor with 6:38 to play in the first and the team said he had a sprained left knee.
Thomas was averaging 13.1 points and 5.4 rebounds heading into the game against San Antonio. He missed the Clippers' Dec. 16 game against the Los Angeles Lakers with a sprained right ankle.

With about 4 1/2 minutes to go in the first, Ginobili grabbed his left hand and left the court. The team said he sprained his left index finger. It's the same injury Ginobili had Dec. 2 against Portland. Ginobili is averaging 20 points for San Antonio.Spurs coach Gregg Popovich told the San Antonio Express-News that Ginobili's finger is in "bad shape." "It's like having a sprained thumb," Popovich told newspaper. "You keep hitting it and hitting it, and it never gets healed. He's having a hard time grasping the ball, holding the ball, shooting the ball, that sort of thing.

"We were hoping that he was turning the corner. He was playing through it, and he really got whacked hard tonight. So now he's back to square one, and we'll just wait and see how he feels."

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Anyone think all these injuries are fakes to give the big three a rest? It's a rumor going around the NBA Forum by some Parker-hater.
