Default Recreate classic teams with current players

We all hear about player comparisons. Stockton with Nash, Kobe with Jordan, Boozer with Malone, etc.
In this thread recreate classic teams with their current day counterpart.
THEN, post how good you think that squad would do in the current NBA.
Example:
Showtime Lakers-
PG: LeBron James as Magic Johnson
SG: Leandro Barbosa as Byron Scott
SF: Shawn Marion as James Worthy
PF: ??? as Kurt Rambis
C : Yao Ming as Kareem Abdul-Jabaar
I say this team makes AT LEAST the WCF, and would win more than 2 titles.

Your turn.

Cool Idea. I think Richard Jefferson is more like Worthy and you could put David Lee as Rambis. I'll try to think of one.

*Random User*: "Wow, what a great thread idea. Good for you!"
Me: Thanksss!

I guess I'll do another one.
92-93 Chicago Bulls
PG: Daniel Gibson as BJ Armstrong
SG: Kobe Bryant as Michael Jordan
SF: Andre Igoudala as Scottie Pippen
PF: Al Horford as Horace Grant
C: ??? as Bill Cartwright
I'd say this team is a second round exit.

Your turn...

I always saw Haslem as a young Horace Grant.

I thought about doing this team. Good call on Igoudala and Gibson. As far as Horace Grant maybe Drew Gooden and Mikki Moore as Bill Cartwright.

Cool idea.

1983 Philadelphia 76ers

PG- Maurice Cheeks ----> Andre Miller
SG- Andrew Toney -----> Ben Gordon
SF- Julius Erving -------> This is hard... T-Mac, maybe?
PF- Bobby Jones -------> Marcus Camby (best fit would be prime Rodman)
C- Moses Malone -------> Dwight Howard

I think this team would probably win a championship. Considering that real life team almost went "fo, fo, fo" in the toughest era in NBA history, their modern equivalent should consequently be amazing as well.

1989 Detroit Pistons

PG- Isiah Thomas ------> Chris Paul
SG- Joe Dumars -------> Chauncey Billups
SF- Dennis Rodman ----> Tyrus Thomas
PF- Rick Mahorn -------> Nene
C- Bill Laimbeer --------> ? (I can't think of any 7 foot centers with a 3 point shot, dirty defense, and the complete hatred of the entire league)

1994-1995 Houston Rockets

PG- Kenny Smith- Louis Williams
SG- Clyde Drexler- Paul Pierce
SF- ?
PF- Robert Horry?
C- Hakeem- Tim Duncan

That one is tough.

I wanted to do this tea, but I like youur attempt.

PG: Mo Cheeks- Jose Calderon. Mo doesn't have the post-up game like Dre. Assists totals may match up but not the offensive ability.

SG: Andrew Toney- Ben Gordon. Close enough. Although I wish there was a deader eye gunner to choose from.

SF: Julius Erving- Josh Howard. I'd hate to put them in the same league because Doc was ten times the player Josh is, but I can't comfartably say T-Mac considering how many pull-up 3's Mac attempts.

PF: Bobby Jones- Shawn Marion. Active on the defensive end. Goes for blocks, steals, and gaurds your best offensive player, on the wing or the post.

C: Moses Malone- Dwight Howard. Beast

Dirk is closer to Bird than Hedo.

Dirk is a softie, he can't get to the rim like bird and can't put the ball on the floor like larry.
The only thing they have in common is that they're both white and can shoot the lights out.

Bird was a great passer, played defense and got his shots off the dribble.(could also say he was clutch but there's no reason to insult dirk)

Bird would **** Dirk up.
