The Blazers tried playing Sheed at the 5 against Shaq. He did well defensivly, so I think that could also be an option. Also, Sheed is perfect in the post. He has a GREAT turn around jumper. Just because he prefers to shoot outside now-a-days doesn't mean he can't be a center. McDyess at the 5. I don't know about that. I'd build him up to that point with minutes off the bench at the 5 and if he does well then start him there. If he doesnt then he can remain Sheed's back up. Dale Davis...smh...the guy sucks. He isn't worth money on any team much less a top 5 team in the NBA.
76ers fan here, man you guys whiped us off the court last season buts lets talk about ur center situation. I would love to see ur rookie center Samb start. I know he won't but he is a thiner ben wallace. He even has the fro. I swear he looks like ben and he plays like him too. He has bens blocking abbilty and I think he can develop to be as good or better then wallace if he reaches his full potential. This kid you guys got in the 2nd round I think from the lakers is a born shot blocker. I expect big things from him. Also remeber that Ben Wallace was in the same situation, he wasn't noticed until he came to detriot and showed his abilty. You guys will see some sparks here and there from this kid this season that will show you he could be the next ben wallace. I don't expect him to start but you will see 3 or 4 years from now he was worth trading for. As your center this season I think dyce will start but he will split time with nazr and when they r both in the game they will move dyce to the 4.
Now before you rip me about Ben Wallace being a Bull, I will say this, I have rooted a lot for the Pistons when they made the finals, why because I felt the Central division in the East was just not getting it's due, it was all about LeBron (no disrespect to LeBron). Not only that I like the Spare Tires and hope The Chicago Bull's Matadors will have a dance off with the Spare Tires.
I agree as well that i'd like to see Cheik Samb start at Center, he is a taller Ben Wallace with an offensive game. His only downside is that he is a rail thin 7'-1", 220 lbs and needs to add 30-40 lbs of muscle.
In Samb, you could have a new fan favorite on this team. He is good.
