Q's Key's To The Game:
1) Hit jumpers. With teams now tripling Chris, he can't do much, so whenever anyone has a jumper, they need to take it, and hit it.
2) Q on Tony. We need him to be a road-block and really slow down Parker.
3) Thornton. Might not be a key to winning, but I hope to see another big game from Al.
I would just like to see a some of the core guys spends some quality chemistry producing playing time.
The rotation has been changing so much because of injuries that I dont think the team has any glue to their union.
Of course I dont mean players like TimmyThomas, Livingston, or Brand...
But players like Mobley, Cassel, and Al T (who has not been injured but is only currently receiving much playing time..)
Also the guard/forwards really need to be hitting from the outside.. so that The Caveman can be free in the middle. (and not be triple teamed as he currently is...)
This looks like it'll be a good game. Ross-Parker, Bowen-Maggette, and Kaman-whoever he guards should all be interesting matchups. This'll be a fun game to watch; I just hope the Spurs don't blow another game. Past 4-5 games haven't really gone our way, and I hope we get Manu back soon.
Man, I thought the Clippers started Brevin Knight and Tim Thomas. That's what I put in the S.A. Forum in my gamethread, because that's what it said on the Depth Chart on ESPN.
Time-out taken by the Spurs with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter as the Clippers and Spurs are tied up at 10 a piece. Clippers are playing pretty solid, but can't give the Spurs any 2nd chance points and need to crash the boards themselves. I just want to see how long this team can stick with the Spurs.
And Lawler is really something else, made me chuckle when talking about Tony, said "Tony's desperate wife is in the building"
Man, I thought the Clippers started Brevin Knight and Tim Thomas. That's what I put in the S.A. Forum in my gamethread, because that's what it said on the Depth Chart on ESPN.
Thomas is just barely coming back from injury, might not even play that much. Knight hasn't started much since Sam I Am has come back
Time-out on the floor as Clippers lead 18-15 with 2:54 remaining in the first period of the game. Kaman has been playing solid thus far with 8 points, 5 boards and 2 blocks, but just picked up his second personal, so Josh Powell should be the one checking in for him. Giving Duncan a huge advantage in the post. Clippers are just scoring in the point at almost what seems like will, so they need to keep doing that and not try to chuck shots. Let's Go Clippers!
At the end of one, Clippers not only sticking in with the defending champions, but leading them 24-21. Not much you can say about the Clippers in this game, as their playing solid with good ball movement, crashing the boards. Communication on defense can be better at times, but like I said, they are really doing well. Glad to see Knight hit a jumper along with Thomas getting back on the court. Hopefully he can hit a few shots
Time-out on the floor with 7:52 remaining in the half. Clippers are really in sync and lead 35-27. Tim Thomas is really showing no sign of rust, as is Manu for the opposing side. On top of that, Timmy might have stopped Parker from picking up a technical foul on the play right before the time-out.
Josh Powell is impressing me thus far in the game. I think us Clipper fans were too harsh on him. The guy hasn't had much playing time to get comfortable playing with this team or learning how the team plays. His hustle is something I won't mind keeping around next season.
Time-out on the floor with 5:54 left and the Clippers are on top, 37-31. Thornton is trying to do too much at the moment, but being a rookie, he won't get many calls, but he finally does. Powell is really something else, this guy's hustle and energy is just awesome. I'm really turning around on him. Clippers haven't even had Chris in the game since he picked up his second personal but are still playing tough against the defending champs
So after the end of the first half, were right back to where we started as the teams are tied up at 42. Clippers aren't bringing the energy anymore like they used to and Maggette is getting no calls, so they need to adjust in the 2nd half and come right back out with energy. Bang it into Kaman then let Maggette and Thortnon slash, then you have open jumpers for Sammy, Mobley and Timmy
10:31 left in the third and the Clippers forced to call a time-out as the Spurs come out on a 4-0 run and lead 46-42. Clippers are turning it over right away thus far in the 2nd half
Time-Out on the floor and the Spurs lead 56-54 with 5:16 remaining in the third quarter. Parker is getting into the key at will, while on the opposite end, Clippers are pretty stagnant. Maggette finally finished a lay-up without trying to draw a foul, but on the very next possession, tries to draw a foul on a jumper.
