Question Superduperstar theory

Did anyone else read that thread on how many recent NBA champs
have had real NBA superduper stars? Examples are MJ, Shaq, Magic,
Larry, The Dream, Duncan (??), Dr. J. etc. All MVP caliber.....

I really agree with this idea and even though we have Kobe, I think
we need another player of his caliber to make it to the top again.
A MAJOR one-two punch seems a great strategy.

I miss Jerry, he knows how to pull these deals off (remember Kareem,
Shaq, and some great trades for extremely high draft picks). I know
this is tough with the cap, more teams, ........... but I would sacrifice
some of our very good talent for another superduperstar.

magicmanfan

suggest a superduperstar and what you would be willing to give up for him. I would suggest ignoring the fact that most teams won't trade their superduper star. it's fun to dream.

suggest a superduperstar and what you would be willing to give up for him. Someone who would play well with Kobe. I would suggest ignoring the fact that most teams won't trade their superduper star. it's fun to dream.

Default you're right!!

Trading for another superduperstar will be incredibly difficult......
But we need a big man down low who demands a double team.
As far as suggestions, I love Yoa. He's so big he needs to be
triple teamed! I know this is a ridiculous suggestion, but anything's
possible. (ya right!)

I'd trade anyone except Kobe and Luke (he's going to be one #@*#
of a player very soon!). Don't get me wrong, I love the team as is
but to get Yoa, you might have to dig deep!!

I also think KG could play with Kobe...... In a years time, that might
be doable.... LO7, R. Turiaf and B. Cook for KG ??? + draft picks ???

Luke at point, Kobe, KG, Vlad and Brown. I like that team!!!

I prayed for RonRon to be traded here.....do you think that's a
possibility any time soon?

not unless kings do horrible for the first few months, then have ron-ron go off and demand a trade to LA. That would be a dream come true. Because then, no other team would want a disgruntled artest, so kings would be forced to trade him to LA where Lakers could pretty much tell them odom is untradeable then we would have the trio of kobe, test, lamar. what a dream...

Default RonRon

I dont think LO7 could be involved as he makes a ton more cash
than RonRon......Disgruntlement is the only likely possibility.

What about the three bigs for KG?

I'm smiling ear to ear......let's hope tons of Cap's tutoring
sinks in. Bringing him back into the family was very wise.

Hopefully Bynum wont break Cap's old bones. I would have preffered someone younger so Bynum can have some real competition.

Nothing against Reem but Bynum needs real physicality

I kind of agree with this... Detroit is a perfect example of a team that does not have a superstar like you describe, yet they were nba champs. So, I am not convinced that having two superstars is actually necessary. Having a key go-to player, plus a very good supporting cast that meshes and buys into winning selflessly can also be championship caliber.

p.s. I think we all miss Jerry as well...!!
