Lakers missed out on a good sign and trade oppurtunity. I dont know why they werent agressive to pursue a sign and trade. mihm + george could have been a nice package

We couldn't really do a S&T, since he's not going to get more than the $4.2 he got from Dallas anyway. I dont see any team over the cap would be willing to give more than that.

Yeah, I was hoping he'd come back because he used to contribute in ways people overlooked. I guess it's a better opportunity for him. Good luck to him.

I agree with all the comments here... he will be missed and his efforts were appreciated. I hope he does really well, except when he plays the Lakers!

Peace!

George was a solid player for you guys. He had some pretty good years for you guys. Luckily he wasn't a big part of your team so you aren't losing much.

I hate how we lose special people to free agency.

Horry
Fisher
George

What is this man?

Horry does next to nothing in the regular season so I don't think he's useful unless its a team that a lock to go deep in the playoffs and theres gonna be crunch time plays for him to make. For a team like us clawing to make the postseason we can't have guys saving gas or w/e it is that Robert does.

Horry is just good for the playoffs, for only a few minutes at a time.
Fisher got a FAT contract from over-payers GC (good for him).
DGeorge is now a 8th-10th man. Don't be surprised if he only averages 10min per game for the Mavs.

Anyone else "special"?

agreed on the Horry comments. I also agree that George was often overlooked and he did contribute alot to those championship runs. Too bad injuries cut his PT the last 2-3 seasons I wish him luck on the Mavs.

They're sayin that George is gonna compete for the starting SG w/ Buckner b/c they want a defensive minded SG to atleast start and do what Griffin did, and George is better than Griffin, so no reason to assume he won't take on Griff's old role and start while getting 20mins.

Hard to see DGeorge as an SG, but OK. Between the 2 and 3 positions they have:
Josh Howard
Stackhouse
Buckner
DGeorge.

Yup, I can see DGeorge getting some decent minutes swinging between the 2 and 3.
