With this trade Memphis upgrades at the 2 gaurd position with a scorer who should average 20-23 ppg and he could boost his average back up to 21 ppg at least. They would also get one of the hardest working SF in the game and could be deadly against other teams off the bench both defensively and offensively. Joakim Noah is also another player the Grizz would like because he's tall, defensively gifted, energetic and has shown that he can contribute right away, most improtantly he's a winner! Down the road he could become a good complimentary big man and with his length he's capable of grabbing a good share of rebounds. Viktor Khryapa would mostly be in the deal as a filler and expirer at nearly 2 million dollars, but he always gives effort when put in the game and makes the most of the playing time he gets. If that's not enough the Bulls could add in a first round pick. The Bulls on the other hand would actually be giving up 12 ppg in scoring and if they gave up anymore the trade wouldn't be worth it for them. In my oppinion this deal would be great for both teams. The Grizzlies get a player in Gordon who can score in bunches, especially off the bench, a very solid SF who can play as a starter if needed, Joakim Noah is a promising big man who's #1 goal is winning and Khryapa is a pleasant surprise at times. The Bulls would finally get the low post scoring big man they needed, and Navarro would replace the two three point shooters they'd be giving up and would take Gordon's role, although he doesn't score nearly as many points, but does have occasional 20 point performances. Also it would be fair if the Grizzlies gave up a 2nd round pick to the Bulls in the deal.

so now the bulls have 30 mil a year tied up in wallace and gasol for the next 2.5 (gasol runs longer of course)? Ehh, backcourt rotation would be JC, kirk, duhon and thabo? Im not buying
there simply isn't enough minutes around for gordon, gay, mike miller and nocioni. they get a glut in the backcourt while leaving their frontcourt extremely thin.

Of coarse I would expect this to be a work in progress in the off season where they can try to do draft Chase Budinger. Also the best thing to do would be to cut Wallace after this season if he doesn't show improvement.

why, then they are paying him 16 mil and dont get anything. I would agree that maybe they should stop starting him (even this year) but cutting him without a buyout does nothing (unless you really need that roster spot)
