Default DJ Mbenga?

Does anybody know anything about DJ Mbenga? Sounds like the Lakers are close to signing him while they are still waiting on CWebb to decide where he will go.

I don't remember seeing him play at Dallas or Golden State, but he has a career 1.3ppg average so not sure how much he can contribute.

What I've heard and what I've seen with Golden State is that he's Kwame times 2....

Defensive player with no offensive ability.

Lets hope he either plays with more passion then Kwame or we sign Webber already.

We don't need offense though, just defense. DJ is a much much much better shot blocker than Kwame, I would say he's the #1 choice right now for sure. Kwame can't even play defense right now, so he's useless, at least with DJ we'd have someone protecting the rim instead of allowing layup drills for the other team.

Yeah, we definitely need a big body in there so I'm sure it won't hurt to have him even if he has no offensive game. Gotta think that at 7' he should be able to put in some missed shots at some point though.

If the warriors waive this guy? C'mon now. Their best center is Andres Bieridens(sp?) I think were better of trying out Marc Gasol. How is he doing? Has anyone heard aything?

Gasols problem is that he wanted to stay over seas to develop more.

From what I've seen, Dude is slow. Canít really run, jump or any of that Athletic stuff. He plays like Pau minus the speed, strength and whole athleticism. But when he shoots, dribbles and passes it looks just like Pau. He's big though

I had a thread on this the other day.
Dude is like 7'1 and can catch (thus improvment), 265 lbs.
yeah the draft thingy says he is slow, and seeing as he is european he gona get schooled by all nba centres due to the power game the nba plays.
But he will be able to shoot ft, and most likely to have an alright mid-range.
He's also got experince with the spain team and can always talk to his bro for advice. I dont know but it may worth just having a quick word with him.
