Default Spurs-Heat game: Duncan tried to help up Whistle off the floor, he grumpily refused..

at the end of the game when the Spurs had all but won(see ESPN game highlight):

Just like Kenyon Martin in the 2003 NBA Finals.

Of course, money or T-Mobile commercials can't buy class or sportsmanship.

I think he was disappointed as hell, they should have won that game.

it wasn't a lack of sportmanship!

he was devasted after trying so hard again and coming up short!

people don't give him the credit he deserves for effort.

That's because Whistle doesn't deserve any.

Someone clearly knows something of class, what being a "winner" truly is.

You cannot blame the guy, when his team are currently at the bottom of the team standings.

That's a Riley thing. You NEVER help up an opponent and likewise, you don't accept your opponent's hand - at least during the game.

It gives a small emotional edge - these guys aren't enemies in the slightest. In fact, in the small community of pro-ballers, these guys are probably some of the closest acquaintences they've got, but Riley wants that out of their minds when playing.

It also is supposed to build teamwork. When you see your own guy down, he doesn't have to wait for an opponent to help, his teammates should be running over to help him.

It's called being pissed off. If he missed the shot then he probably would have accepted the help. But he (apparently, I didn't watch) got fouled hard and turned it over and didn't even get the chance to shoot it. I would have been mad, too.

If Lebron's record was that bad, without some season ending injury, I'd blame him.

Whistle is no different.

I respect Lebron (and even Kobe) far more, because they're at least CARRYING their teams (Kobe since Shaq left)- Wade simply rode Shaq and the refs to a title. NOW he's finding out how hard it is, and he isn't going to EVEN SNIFF THE PLAYOFFS IN THE EAST.

Whistle has no excuses.

On top of all that (which is more than enough), you see his public poor sporsmanship. Neither Lebron nor Kobe likely have more class than Wade- but AT LEAST they put up the front. Whistle, is above even that- preferring to let his arrogance run freely during his his epic 10 win season.

He has plenty of reasons as to why his team sucks. If you think the Heat suck simply because Shaq isn't there, and that Wade can't carry a team without Shaq, you're naive.

He got caught in the air and was late on the pass. Still the best guard in the east.

He was shooting over 50% before he went iso.
