Z is a legit 2nd option. He commands double teams, Can hit the face up jumper, has a good fade away, good with put backs, and is a giant. He may be underated because he's a team player. How about a trade, Odom for big Z?
So Deng averages 4.7 more points per game on 4.5 more FG attempts per game on the worst offensive team in the league, while Odom plays alongside the greatest scorer in the history of the West.
If you have the "greatest scorer in the history of the West" taking attention away from you, you should be able to average more points, and do so more effienciently than Odom is doing this season. Deng doesn't seem to have much trouble scoring more points more efficienly than Odom, and they see roughly the same amount of defensive attention.
Trust me, if Odom wanted to pad his numbers on a garbage team with garbage role players, he could. Unfortunately for him, he's on a playoff team in the West. I'm not saying he's that good, because he isn't. But better than Deng? Easily. There isn't one sane Lakers fan who would give up Odom for Deng straight up.
Deng also averages nearly five more shots per game. They even out. Odom would be the best player on Chicago. Deng would be lucky to start on the Lakers.
oh no he won't, he'd be effective. but he won't be the best player in Chicago. trust me.
Deng would be lucky to start on Chicago? why who should start over him if Odom isn't there? Ariza? "Bum" Walton?
