I still can't get over this, someone actually took Araujo... RAFAEL ARAUJO. This alone saves me some sanity by not having to see his stupid face in there to bobble passes and get stuffed on nearly every shot attempt around the rim.
I don't think much of Humphries but then again, Sloan's system isn't the easiest thing for a young player to adjust to.
Good riddens our worst player for a younger atheletic banger in Humphries who has potential but never had time and Whaley could grow into a serviceable backup centre. 1 point for Colangelo...already doing better then Babcock
Well Chris wanted a banger and now he got one in Whaley to help out this year more to come in FA or draft...and Humphries could be key of the bench and is ten times better than Hoffa....Utah is taking it up the bum in this trade..Whaley couls also be signed for minimum later.
Yeah just checked Whaley is up after this season league minimum
i know i'm late but, waaaaaat, my day has been made!
I like Humphries, he's young and still got potential unlike hoffa, at the beginning of the season he actually put up decent numbers in limited minutes, but was put to the doghouse eventually, don't know what the reason was, but at least he's shown flashes.
how did colangelo do it tho? someone try to defend the Utah GM so i could see some argument
I believe Whaley will be waived, but either way he's a free agent.
I don't know if you can justify this trade as a salary saving trade (the space is pretty minimal). Since Whaley is a free agent, and the fact that me might be waived (I think he will be) means that this wasn't a clearing a roster spot trade. I think it was basically a trade to see if Humphries can live up to his potential. Perhaps, its a possible attempt at finding something out of massive under-acheiver thus far.
As for Hoffa, I hope he does well in Utah, it was a shame the way he was treated in Toronto.
