I hate how a lot of casual fans vote for popular players (names that they know) instead of those who deserve it during the year. No disrespect to Iverson, but Chris Paul or Nash should have been starting. As for the East, Wade should not be there based on how much he's played this year and his team's lack of success.

Nash just isn't that popular. Same for Paul. Iverson, Kobe and McGrady got so many votes because they are popular and casual fans are more familiar with them.

of course iverson should not be starting over nash or cp3...nash and paul are playing amazing and have lead their teams to great records so far..but everyone likes iverson(including me)....but remember that he narrowly beat out mcgrady for that spot..soo lets be glad iverson is starting instead of tracy...but they will both get voted in by the coaches or whatever as reserves i assume..not sure if they did that already...

The allstar game is about the fans, whoever the fans voted in is the right choice. If Iverson makes the all nba team over one of these guys then its a different story.

Thing is though, it's not like its a robbery that Iverson is starting...Dude is having a great year himself...27/7/3 on 46% shooting on a winning team and has seemed to emerge as the leader on Denver as opposed to Melo

Nash and Paul are playing great up Iverson is right there with them IMO

no, there is no one better than Nash on the PG position. Iverson doesn't deserve to start and neither does Melo. People may like them but they are forgetting the fact that they are not the best players. I understand why they picked Melo, no other SF have been very impressive in West but Iverson?! That's a joke i could name 10 players better then A.I in the West right now

thanks for the replies

i agree with those who say its more like a popularity contest than a skills when it comes to alot of the voting

With that though it IS the fans choice.....

i hope nash will atleast get the bench(if he doesnt ill cry irl)

The fact that T-Mac was higher than nash makes me wanna puke.

It could be worse.....it could be worse.....

Allen Iverson is playing superb basketball than Steve Nash, and when i am watching the Nuggets this season the Answer is the one who is showing his leadership skills for his team.

Steve Nash would not get voted in as a starter in the all star game because we all know he is not deserving to become a 2 time MVP in the regular season, and he failed to lead his all star team thrice in the NBA Finals.
