Default how stupid does Vince Carter feel now....

he had the perfect situation in Toronto, his own franchise that was committed to building around him even during the tough times, huge popularity and fanbase. Even if he never ended up winning much with the Raptors he was destined for icon status not only in Toronto, but in all of Canada....

then of coarse, he didn't like the way things were going, gave up, demanded a trade, and threw away everything he had for a second chance in New Jersey...

now Vince is 30, his New Jersey nets are aging and falling apart, and Jason Kidd has just demanded a trade...meanwhile the Raptors are a young, up and coming team, led by one of the best bigs in the game(who by the way wasn't good enough for Vince). Now Vince is stranded, rotting in one of, if not the worse franchise in the NBA... but he couldn't possible quit again? could he? what would that to do his already damaged image? yeah, he's stuck

Kind of like how T-Mac could have stuck with the Raptors for one more year and actually gotten out of the First Round of the playoffs for once. It's no wonder this pair of whiny morons are related to each other.

But you're right, Vince is a dumbass. He has a terrible attitude, and he has completely squandered his talent. He also never did anything significant for the NJN, and now they suck.

The problem is that this happened to both him and his cousin. T Mac got mad that the Raps didn't pick Emeka Okafor over Dwight Howard after his 21 win season and forced the trade to Houston to play with Yao. If both had a little more patience they could be sitting pretty like Kobe who has his young developing big in Andrew Bynum. Too bad.

WTF? no they weren't !?! the Raptors had no idea Bosh would be this good! the plan was always to build around Vince, MLSE said it many times, and why wouldn't they? Vince had the perfect combination of talent, personality, star quality, and marketability. It was when Vince demanded a trade due to the displeasure of Babcocks hiring, that Babcock was forced to trade Vince(rather terribly as we all know). It wasn't Babcock's initial plan to trade Vince when he was hired, or he would not have gotten the job in the first place...

well it seemed like they gave up on Vince after his barrage of injuries...... I'm not too sure on that... But I also heard that he had some outrageous demands..... but there's always two sides to a story..... As for Babcock, what was up with him? He drafted Arajuo at #8 But Vince's problem is he is too laid back on the floor... Once his athleticism diminished, that was it..... He could have easily been the best player today if he had a better work ethic in Toronto and a superstar mindset.... Dude had all the talent in the world...

I can see how you would think that, but maybe you just don't remember how bad the Raptors really were back then? Vince was all they had, he was the only reason people paid attention to the Raptors, the only reason people came to games. Chris Bosh was nothing but a skinny, awkward, shy kid trying to establish an identity in the league. Even with all the injuries Vince was still the focal point in Toronto, even though it really was time to move on

That was because they thought they were still building around Vince so they didn't want another SG (Iguodala) and drafted for need.

Clearly they were VERY wrong but it showed that Vince was still part of the plan for the Raptors.

Umm T-Mac did join Houston with a young developing big named Yao Ming. It's not like he knew or anyone knew how good Dwight Howard would become.
