Nene makes $10 mill per, so no, I think he'll get a max deal.
Pretty tough criticism for a guy who has improved each year and is still crazy young. He's also never been to the playoffs due to the youth of his team so we aren't sure what he can do come playoff time. You need more then one guy to lead a team through the playoffs and I definitely think he can be one of Atl's key guys in the postseason. Most good players average a lot of TOs as well and Smoove has shown signs this year of cutting back the 3's to help his FG%. His FT% is also better.
i think smith is WAY more valuable than igoudala and deng.
To me there isn't much of a difference between them. I could see a case being made to pick any 3 of them. It's just a matter of what your team needs. Smith's offensive game is way too ugly for me to say he is "way" more valuable than them. I'm still wondering how he would do with a decent PG though.
This is an admitted fantasy angle, but in Jan. he's like 20/8/4 with close to 2 stls and 3.4 blks....on 48% FG.
He is twice as good as Deng and I would actually rather build around him then Iggy. I think Iggy is the product of being a forced number 1 option then much of anything else.
Kevin Martin's contract was very reasonable actually and it was mostly based on him having just one good year (in a contract year). He's lived up to it thus far, but Smith has shown a bit more for a longer period with solid improvement.
If you could pair him with a really good offensive closer he could the #2 guy on a championship team. As talented as he is I don't the see the leadership, or ability to finish big games, that would allow him to be the franchise player on a top team.
That said I would give up anyone but Bosh to get him on the Raptors. If they would take TJ straight up (I'm not sure if the contracts allow this) I would take it in a heart beat. Hell, I'd even throw in some picks and Jamario.
