Default Bonzi Wells

If the Nuggets were to get Bonzi, how far do you think we'd go in the playoffs?

I think at least the second round. It all depends how well Bonzi will perform and if K-Mart wont be a distraction. If they get Wells, they have a very solid team that can make some noise.

now to think of it, Bonzi and maybe Kenyon on the same team? I dont blame you. Bonzi isnt one of the nicest ppl in the league, but if hes gonna help you win.....

I was meaning to ask someone, what does Bonzi do? All I've ever seen him do is shoot mid-range jumpers and take it the rim. Looking at his stats, he got a lot of rebounds last year but hardly shot any threes.

if you guys get bonzi, you'll probably have to give someone up because the chances of bonzi taking the MLE are lowwww

what you just listed was just about everything any player can do on offense. shoot the ball. take it to the rim. get rebounds. Denver doesn't need any of that.

Melo is about to take the next into superstar status it looks like, so if they got Bonzi, this team can go deep...

We've got a bunch of players that can shoot mid-range jumpers, but no one who can hit threes that will stretch the defense. This has been our achilles heel the past couple of years. Defenses just pack the middle against Denver, which is where Melo does his work, because they don't respect our perimeter shooting. That also means they can double and triple team him on every possession.

Wells shot like 22% from three last year. That doesn't solve any of our problems.

It may not SOLVE any of our problems, but I like the move nonetheless. Now that AI's off the market apparently, it doesn't seem that there is another player out there who CAN solve our problems. Getting Bonzi is certainly better IMO than starting JR Smith who hasn't proven anything yet. I say bring him off the bench and let him earn whatever he's gonna get.

My only concern is that Carmelo got in a lil trouble last year, and how is Mr. JailBlazer Bonzi gonna help that? If he hurts Carmelo in any way, then this move isn't worth it even though I think it upgrades the starting lineup and the bench (by moving JR there).

a couple of trade scenarios for bonzi coming to denver:

1. bonzi and williamson(expiring contract) for camby and najera/patterson

2. Bonzi and thomas for camby and patterson/najera

3. Bonzi and potapenko (exp contract) for martin

4. Bonzi and thomas and williamons for martin and miller

If I'm the Nuggets' management I say:

1. NO

2. NO

3. NO

4. and.... NO

Miller is a better player than Wells and Kenyon is a better player than either Wells or any of those other additional players. We do need cap room (expiring contracts), but money won't help us improve much when there aren't many promising free agents on the market anymore. At this point, I only see us dealing Martin in a sign and trade for Van Horn or after the season starts and he raises his stock by playing well or he absolutely cannot get along in Denver.

You had to expect all those offers to be lopsided. His avatar is a kings pic after all.
