One thing that people tend to forget is that any tax or healthcare program will have to make it through both houses of congress. We all know what they can do to something that was once a good idea.

Irrespective of which party takes the White House I would like to see a bipartisan Cabinet. I think that would send a strong message to Congress that working together for common purposes is expected to be the new norm. And it would send a positive message to the public. I don't think that this is unrealistic idealism. We are living in a time of almost unprecedented change which could be used to society's benefit.

Any thoughts?

It would certainly send a good message. Whether it would have an effect on congress members who care for nothing other than re-election and tacking on amendments to help themselves is another matter. Has Obama said anything about a bipartisan cabinet?

I have that impression. I think that a bi-partisan cabinet is imperative. And he has some Republican advisors on the economy and foreign policy. Plus there's the possibility that General Colin Powell will endorse Obama on Sunday's Meet the Press. Now I think that anyone with half-a-brain would want Powell in their government. Obviously there were some less-than-half-brains who booted him out of the current administration and that is such a shame because Colin Powell is such a thoughtful, reasoned man. Probably why lots of folks, even Dems, would have loved it if he'd run for President.

Are there any 'breaking news' types of web sites devoted to sports? Sort of like Yahoo and the New York Times have for regular news. So we don't have to wait for news about trades etc that involve the Cats....

RealGM is usually pretty good but I just get Google RSS for the Bobcats, it updates daily.

Let's hear your National Championship predictions in college football. Right now you would think Alabama and Texas Tech would be the favorites but Texas Tech still has to play Oklahoma in Norman and then probably Missouri in the Big 12 title game. Alabama doesn't really have any more threats of defeat on their regular season schedule but would probably have to play Florida in the SEC Championship. I think Alabama has a pretty good shot at making it to the national championship, and if Texas Tech can get by Oklahoma I think they will be there also. What are yall's thoughts?
