Default Memphis v. Minnesota: The Race for the #1 Pick

Both teams are looking very bad right now, although Minnesota has Foye back. Memphis just lost Pau and Stro, and didn't get much value back. It looks like these two teams have the best chance at getting the top pick, so if one of them gets it, who should they take?

Memphis- Beasley. He can play the 4 now that Pau is gone.

Minnesota- Beasley. Thought about Rose, but Beasley could be the most talented player in the draft. Plus, he can hit the open J while Jefferson works down low.

Did you forget about Miami, and Seattle?

New York and the Clippers have a good shot as well.

The worst team doesn't always get the 1st pick.

Memphis I think would take Beasley to team with Gay in the frontcourt.

Minnesota I think would take Beasley because they already have a bunch of talented guards.

Miami I think would take Rose because PG is certainly a need for them, and he would take a lot of pressure off Wade having to run the point.

Seattle I think would take Rose becuase they already have Durant and Green, and unless they want to go with 3 SF starting with Beasley at PF, PG is a hole they need to fill.

L.A. I think would take Rose because they still have Brand and Maggette at the moment.

New York I think would take Rose because Thomas wants Marbury gone in the wortst way.

You could probably throw Seattle in there, too. Probably the Clippers, too. But looking at Minnesota and Memphis, they both have so much youth now, and little veteran leadership. Miami has Wade, Shaq, and Haslem, but they still aren't much of a team. They'd be interesting at #1.

Looking at some of the other teams now, I guess Minnesota and Memphis aren't the only teams with high chances at getting the #1 pick. Miami would benefit a lot from it, as they could get Michael Beasley, Derrick Rose, or O.J. Mayo, and if they get picks 2-4, they could still get a good draft pick. This year will be a good draft, as no one player has cemented himself as the #1 prospect (although Beasley is very close).
