He's not going anywhere. Are the Hawks or Bulls really going to overpay a 32 year center so much that it will scare off the Pistons?

I hope not, maybe he'll play for 8. Can you de De-scaling contracts in the NBA, or would anyone sign one? Like 10-11 this year, 9 next, 7-8 after that.

IMO, Ben's defense is overrated. Him winning 4 DPOY's in a dissgrace IMO.
His defense isn't all that, really. Can he contain the great post players?
No he can't. While his shotblocking is great, his one on one defense really isn't that great.

He was the cornerstone of the leagues best defense for multiple years at a time, when there was no other outstanding defender, that clearly deserved the award over him. Ron Artest could've stolen one or two of his awards, but we all know what did not allow him to do so.

I feel he is not on Dikembe/Mourning lvl of the nineties, but he is close. His help defense is equally good. He defends the rim like a true center. At 1on1 D, he is limited by his size, but there is nobody to wrestle the award away from him.

Ben Wallace will be forever cemented as one of the greatest NBA players to the thug streetball generation because he can dunk hard

Honestly, I feel Tim Duncan should have gotten a DPOY award by now, its a shame such a 1-dimensional basketball player like Ben Wallace can get it 4 times while Tim (a cornerstone of his team defence, great 1v1 and help defender) can't get it once.

Agreed.

The bottom line is, Ben's 1v1 defense is not good therefore, he's not a 4 times DPOY material.
I think Bruce Bowen should've won the award this year.
Really, Ben deserved 2 DPOY awards but not 4. 4 is too much for someone who can't defend one on one.
