do you think shaq is worth a pickup from my waiver wire. i would most likely drop kurt thomas for him. i know the suns are an offense oriented team, and i was wondering how u think shaq will fit into the mix. u think its a good idea to pick him up?
Re: will shaq's value increase with him on the suns?
I dont think his stats will change at all. Hes not gonna be involved with high pick n rolls. Hes still gonna get it on the block and shoot jump hooks or get dunks. He isnt going to have to play any defense either and will probably get fewer boards. I dont see him doing BETTER per say...just remaining the same.
Re: will shaq's value increase with him on the suns?
I think his touches may go down, but I think the ones he does get will be of a higher percentage so I don't see much of a change. Maybe a little more in the blocks category.
Re: will shaq's value increase with him on the suns?
Honestly
scoring won't change much
but his Rebounds and minutes will be more consistant once he's healthy
if he's healthy
His boards should increase
how much I don't know
but because the suns do so much shooting his rebounds especially offensive boards which were already high should automatically increase.
Plus Amare will now replace Marion as the trailor on fast breaks
so Shaq now owns the rebound and out let pass responsibilities
I see 10 boards easy once he's healthy
and his assist should climb with all those 3pt shooters they have when the suns go to a half court set.
However this is on his health
dispite the negativity last time he came back from the hip injury he was putting up 20 and 10 in back 2back games.
As he gets in shape will be the real story
I think he's worth a waiver wire gamble

good, depending on your needs though
Farmar minutes are going back down with Gasol in the rotation
and when Bynum comes back you was going to have to drop him anyway

i had just picked up farmar yesterday because someone else dropped him, so i never even got to use farmar. my team is 3rd out of 14, so i'm doing pretty well, but i have jamal crawford, ricky davis, and al harrington on my team, so i'm assuming shaq can help me out big time in the fg% catagory because those other guys can hurt in that catagory.
