Default Farmar not playing well lately.

He's been shooting very poor as of late.

He is shooting 6/24 for 25% on field goals his last 4 games and isn't distributing the ball well enough either.

The odd thing about it is his poor play came right after javaris left and probably doesn't feel threatened about losing his role.

If thats the case I am really not sure if he is worth it. Pau is making the game so much easier so how is Farmar not getting "into" the games?

Discuss.

Interesting and thought provoking... I sure hope there is not a correlation as you suggest. Perhaps he is injured in some form and its not serious enough to be made public.

But you are right, I have noticed that he has been "off" lately. Perhaps he is adjusting to Pau as well????? Also, D Fish has looked awesome lately, so perhaps he is getting more minutes right now?

He has fallen off the last couple games. Whats to get use to with Pau-Pow there? If anything this should help him get to the hole alot easier. He just seems contempt to hit the outside shot recently instead of driving, which has made him successful lately. I love this dude, I hope he gets it together, I d hate to see him traded because hes becoming a non contributor.

nothing to be worried about... just a slump, he's young and this is just part of learning... once again with pau coming on board the second units rotation has changed and farmar being the floor general of that group will be the one who makes the most adjustment... normally that isn't a problem but like i said he's just coming into his own this year and things like that can throw a young player/team off for a few games... add that the road trip was in full swing when the changes took place so everyone is lacking from a good practice session... when they get home and coaches have time to break film down , make adjustments things will look better...

co-sign

apparently Phil was very upset with farmar though. Him and Vlad specifically for their defense against Orlando.

It just seems to me that everyone else is doing great. Everyone is actually playing much better except for him.

Wouldn't pau be making it easier for Pau as well?

Lakerfreak, you lack patience ;) GTS is right, nothing to worry about he's going through a rough spot. He's grown leaps and bounds this season, he was overdue for a bump in the road. Phil will put more pressure on Jordan because he wants him to "lead" the second team so he'll get yelled at more others on the second team. He'll be just fine.

I'm really worried about Luke, he's in danger of falling out of the rotation and becoming expendable when everyone gets healthy. You know its bad when Vlad is getting more minutes at SF. Once Ariza is back he might fall to 4th in the SF rotation.

what I want from farmar is

1.> use his quickness to go to the hole
2.> fake on the 3 point line and go close and take a 10-15/18 footer
3.> dont fall in love with the 3 shoot

CO-Sign. I think Luke will be expendable come Summer, maybe even come Feb 21 with his recent slow play. I know hes banged up a bit, but damn, he's a slow healer.

Bad when Vlad gets more minutes? Vladimir is a starting caliber small forward and has always been better than Walton. Remember how he torched us on seattle? He has always been known as a big time shooter.

When Ariza comes back Ariza will get to start after a few games. We need Ariza's defense and hustle. Otherwise we lose in the playoffs without someone like Ariza. I would rather have Vlad play with a running second unit and Farmar.

Im just a little dissapointed that noone has noticed the timing of Jordan's recent play.

I think you're right. Farmar isn't under much pressure anymore because Javaris left. He needs to understand it will inflict his playing time though.. (the way he plays)

I think Radman is a better fit in the line up then Luke because of Pau has arrived. With Pau drawing so much attention Radman is sitting outside wide open for the three which is he's style. Now, lets not write Luke off so fast the dude does have a high IQ for the game and he's just making adjustments. Luke will help the team even if he coming off the bench and want whin about it...

Sorry I forgot what the question was. Famar will be ok once the team return home the road is wearing on him...

Vlad may be starting caliber, be he isn't a very good overall player, his strength is shooting and when his shot isn't falling, he isn't very useful out there. He's below average on defense, passing, rebounding, driving to the hole, and playing in the post. Walton should be able to outplay Vlad in every area except shooting and he's not doing it.

Once the Lakers get back to full strength, Odom will start at the 3 and I think Ariza or Vlad will be the first 3 off the bench depending on if Phil wants offense or defense.

Jordan Farmar will be fine, he'll bounce back, I predict it! :) After the allstar break he'll be back to his old self.

Interesting regarding Farmar.... I don't like the comment about Farmar glaring at PJax... not sure if it really happened that way, but players should not be glaring at their coaches... Cook and Smush both did that once... heh

Quote:

FARMAR BLASTED

The Lakers allowed Orlando a franchise-high 44 first-quarter points. Their defense was so poor at times against a Magic team running sets similar to Phoenix's pick-and-roll actions that Jackson was furious in the first half with Vladimir Radmanovic and in the second half with Jordan Farmar.

Radmanovic (on Turkoglu and Brian Cook) and Farmar (on Keith Bogans) sagged off shooters to allow 3-point baskets.

The Lakers led, 100-90 before an 8-0 Orlando run. The last six points of that came on a three-point play by Keyon Dooling against Farmar and then Bogans' 3-point shot over Farmar. After both plays Jackson lit into Farmar, who had three points on 1-of-5 shooting and no assists in 15 minutes. After the second scolding Fisher came over to console Farmar, who continued to glare back at Jackson after the coach had walked away.
