Clippers lose game 1 to Warriors
With Andrew Bogut sitting somewhere in the Bay Area with a broken rib and Andre Iguodala sitting on the bench with foul trouble, the sixth-seeded Warriors somehow managed to upset the No. 6 Clippers on Saturday afternoon at Staples Center.
Klay Thompson scored 22 points, including the game-clinching free throw in the closing seconds, as the Warriors beat the Clippers 109-105 in a Game 1 that lived up to the billing as the playoffs’ most entertaining matchup and allowed the Warriors to steal home-court advantage in the teams’ best-of-seven, first-round series.
Game 2 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday in Los Angeles, and the series shifts to Oakland for Games 3 and 4 on Thursday and April 27.
