Default Vince Carter deal

I'm in a 20 team H2H keeper league. I need boards and blocks pretty badly.

I give: Vince Carter, Kurt Thomas
I get: Emeka Okafor, Anderson Varaejao

Varaejao's injury doesn't concern me at all, he'll be back soon. Okafor's FT% does scare me though, need to check and see how many he attempts to see how much it'd effect me. I sort of feel like I'm giving up just a bit too much, maybe ask for something like a mid-round pick to be added in the deal. What do you guys think?

Should be able to do better than Okafor. I'd try Kaman.

For the most part here, you are trading VC for Okafor. I think you could get just a little but more. Try someone like Kaman (like the guy below me stated) or maybe even Gasol.

Look at a 2 for 1 where you get a consistent shot blocker who isnt very talented and another gaurd/forward to make up for VC's losses. Keep in mind, some people just love Carter. I'm personally not one of them, but they do exist. Get as much as you can.

I like this deal if you can modify it, because VC is often overvalued based on his name and Okafor is consistently undervalued in terms of the boards, blocks and fg%. So play up the idea that you're really losing in the first half of the deal. Throw out the Thomas/Varejao piece and instead deal another player where you get a nice upgrade. For example, if you want to dump Nocioni, get Artest or Granger in return. That's probably asking too much in the second half, but do you get what I mean? Work the idea that you're really losing the first part (which IMO you're really not losing a ton, but often people perceive that you are) to make some great gains with the second part. Thomas for Varejao is not even close to enough considering what you could do with it if you barter well. Hope that makes sense, good luck.

Carter is actually putting up good numbers across the board, even though his scoring is way down from normal. but if you factor in the kidd trade, carter will be handling the ball more and therefore his numbers will go up. I agree with the attempt to get kaman, but you'd be losing on the current deal if you made it.

couldn't agree with you more..Vince has been hated on most of the year..but the guy is putting up nice multi-cat games ..what's really impressed me is his ast numbers ..he's the guy that put me over the top(first place) in assists in my league
