Default Dallas and San Antonio, you are now officially on notice…

We spoiled Marion’s debut, we spoiled Bibby’s debut, and most importantly we spoiled Shaq’s debut! You are next Kidd and Thomas! The Lakers are the official debut killers.

BTW- Lakers are tied for second place in the West. Time to celebrate~! At first I was hesitant to think we could still win the West with all these trades going on, but we’re clearly proving ourselves now. We’ve won six in a row and have only lost one game since Pau joined the lineup and even that game would’ve been ours if we didn’t play so sloppy. For all the misfortune we’ve had these last few seasons, things are finally starting to look bright. God bless America~!

Nice post Mr. Sword.

I agree, those teams and the rest of the league definitely have to take notice. The assasin is leading his team toward something wonderful. Lets pray for their collective health and the fast return of Bynum/Ariza!

I honestly think we can compete without Ariza and Bynum. Only time will tell if Bynum will come back where he left off. If we can get 10pts/15Rebs/3blocks from Bynum when he gets back, the Lakers will be unbeatable. Gasol will be able to feed the big man for a lot of dunks. Lets hope the injury bug is not going to be a normal thing for Bynum. I think he will be the next GREAT NBA center after Kareem. (Sorry, I never thought Shaq was a great center despite his wins. No finesse) I still haven't seen Ariza play enough to know if he can even break into this lineup. You can only play so many people. Of course, Walton could go sit down on the end of the bench with Koby Carl and Ariza can take his place.

Absolutely NOT time to celebrate!!!

for crying out loud we're winning a bunch of regular season games like the suns do. They always lose in the playoffs! Mavericks had similar success last year and got upset in the first round by the 8th place warriors!!!

Celebrate beating teams that got their chemistry shaken up by trades? No way sir I say no freakin way!!!

We still have to try and get first in the west, then beating rounds one, two, and 3. Then if we get to the finals....there is then some celebration until we walk away with the brass, in which case we all join in the LA parade.

It's definately not time to celebrate. If you looked at the standings and saw that the Lakers were 2nd in the West did you also take a minute to look at how close everybody else is? It's not over until it's over. You can't light the victory cigar before the fat lady sings. Lets take the wins with class and not be so arrogant about it. All it takes is an injury to a key player and there's a chance the Lakers don't even make the playoffs. It's a great win tonight, the team has great talent, but let's not let it go to anybody's head too quick. A regular season victory against the Suns is meaningless without success in the post season. Honestly, who celebrates second place? Especially during the regular season before it's even over. When the Lakers lost in the finals in 2004 was there a parade? Be happy about a win, but don't be a poor winner.

Well in our next 10 games we SHOULD win at least 9 of them. Facing teams like Seattle, Clippers, Miami, Portland, and Sacramento. That leaves us at a March 14th match-up with New Orleans. Wouldn't it be nice if Bynum's back by then, maybe in his second or third game of his comeback?
Conservatively at 7-3 in those 10 games we end up at 44-20! And then I say we just run the table with Bynum back all the way up to our perfect playoff record.

Uh, the "time to celebrate" part of my post was sort of a joke. I know that nothings concrete and that we'll have to keep this killer instinct we've had these last few years.

But, as LD said, our next 10 games are against teams we should beat while the rest of the West's teams have it tougher. If we can play well through this ten game stretch, it would push the odds of us getting a top two spot in the West immensily.
