His rebounding should improve along the lines of Dirk Nowitzki.
How so? Dirk is well known as being a rare exception when it comes to improvements in rebounding. It's far more likely that Bargnani will continue to be a very poor rebounder.

The fact that Toronto is a run and gun team made it tempting to draft an outside-shooting big man.
Toronto is not a run and gun team and I would guess plays at one of the slowest paces in the NBA (at least with Calderon as the starter). The Raptors were a run and gun team for 10 games to start last year and that's it.

Might be that final wrath was referring to what the identity of the team was going in to the season.

The fact that Toronto is a run and gun team made it tempting to draft an outside-shooting big man. Especially one who seems to have so much potential on both sides of the ball. But Andrea probably needs to have 4-5 seasons under his belt before he is a legit star.

For that reason, it would make sense for the Raptors to use him in a trade. Bosh is ready to win now. I say trade Ford/Bargnani for a defensive minded center.

I agree with you on the Raptors decision making to picking him in the draft, but I can foresee another Darko Milicic, plenty of talent-not enough consistency...Also, Darko is in his 4 or 5th season and he still doesn't look comfortable in the NBA, only time will tell...
