O'Neal is out for the year, right? I remember reading somewhere that he might not play for the rest of the season; maybe it was just a Pacer fan with high hopes of tanking... I'd like to see him get traded because I don't think Indiana's going too far with him. They've got a young team, they need to get young talent to mold together. Finding some good defensive players should be a high priority, but I don't think that drafting a big-time scorer, if he falls into their lap come draft day, is out of the question either. Indiana needs that kind of player who can take over a game himself; preferably a point guard to develop behind (and possibly even play extensively behind) Jamaal Tinsley. And a center is a high priority as well. Getting a tall athlete to pair next to the shorter, hardworking rebounder in Diogu would be a step in the right direction. Lots of options come draft day for Indiana, just hoping they don't screw it up.

It looks like he is hoping to be able to play in a few weeks (see link below). There are different ways to look at it if you want him traded. Some may not want him to come back at all just to give these young guys more playing time or even risk him hurting/getting hurt more. But you probably have to play him just to show other teams that he is good to go in a trade over the summer. Yeah, I hear the plan is to get him back before the season ends, and then hopefully, *crossing fingers*, trade his ass in the summer. Looks like we are trying to get his value up before then. So hopefully he has a few BIG games, with huge production, and his value can go back to where it was, or close anyways...
