Default Refs?????????????????

This isn t going to be your typical post from a fan crying about the referreeing. I just want to put out a couple of facts and leave them for you to think about.

On the heels of Tim Donaghy admitting betting on NBA games based on WHO was officiating what teams games i d just like to put this out there. Donaghy was saying certain refs would have an adverse affect on certain teams chances of winning. So he would bet on them.

Tonight we suffered our 19th loss. Now here is what you DONT KNOW! Tonight s officiating crew headed by Mike Callahan just officiated its 5th Laker loss.

COINCIDENCE?????????????????
COINCIDENCE?????????????????

I leave it to you?

the lakers gave up 71 in the first half... not sure, i din't see the refs setting screens, but they are sneaky like that...lol

fact of the matter is the lakers took the first half off completely swapped baskets in the third and tried to win the game in the 4th...

Maybe they didnt set screens but Sac did get 21 ft s attempts in the first half.

btw For those who think that the refs couldn t be to blame for a 1 pt loss...............YOU ARE IDIOTS!

Yes we played poor D in the first half but did Gasol get fouled on his go ahead basket?

Also even Phil mentioned the refs during his post game interview.

They need a loss like this to remind themselves they are not the untouchable ****ing lakers.

Im glad this loss happened. Now we can focus on playing with high intensity and less BS.

I cant wait until bynum returns...if Bynum played, we dont give up 71 in a half.

Didn't see the game....

We had a golden opportunity to go up by 1 on the Spurs.
This team still has a way to go if we want to think title sots.

They can prove themselves worthy if they win the next couple of games against the NBA's elite.

Man.......not talking conspiracy here. I m just saying certain refs make certain calls sometimes based on bias. Not even saying it was the reason for the loss. I m just posing the question. Was Donaghy correct in his reasoning for placing his bets??

Yes, the lakers played lackadaisical defense for 3 quarters again, but the refs 100% gave that game to the Kings. I'm not a proponent of "well they gave up 71 in the first half so they don't deserve to win" BS, they had the lead at the end of the game which means they played hard enough to win, and the refs made a ridiculous call to swing it the other direction.

And for those who didn't see it, Kevin Martin pushed Sasha to the ground on the final play where Sasha "tripped" Beno - that should've been an offensive foul, 2 free throws to the Lakers which would've put them up by 3. Instead it was a tripping foul and 2 free throws for Beno which decided the game.

I don't see how anyone could say that the refs were biased in the Kings' favor. Didn't Mikki Moore get called for like 4 moving picks (2 or 3 in a row)? Kobe didn't deserve to shoot 15 free throws, either. As a matter of fact, I'm looking at the box score right now, and fouls called were equal for both teams (the Lakers shot more free throws).

The Lakers would have won the game if Kobe made 14 of his 15 free throws instead of 12. Or if Kobe hadn't gone 7-18. Or if Kobe had scored more than 1 point in the 4th quarter. Or if Farmar and Fish didn't combine for 5 turnovers and 7-21 shooting. Or if the team hadn't given up 40 points in the second quarter alone. Or if Reggie Theus had stayed on that Hang Time show.

Bottom line is, they had plenty of chances to win. They didn't. Life goes on. It's pretty silly to blame the refs when our best player gets away with at least 2 reaching-in calls, 4 verbal flops and 18 technicals every game. "HEEEEEEY!"

Default Re: Refs?????????????????

The Lakers needed to lose a game like this to get themselves refocused on playing champinship defesne. They might have been feeling a little to good about themselves. Too good, like we can pull it out in the 4th anytime we want to kind of good.

They had won 3 or 4 in a row, but except for the clipper game were playing well below their capability.

If the refs were indeed trying to give the game to sacto, that charging call against DFish late in the 4th would have been called blocking....it was closer to a block than a charge anyways in my book.

Even if that is the case this team is too good to let the refs make a difference in a game like this.

Well said.... The Laker put themselves in the position to lose by one point... thats why I don't care for these kinds of threads... the Lakers and only the Lakers lost.... they did it to themselves so lets hope they learned something from it... we move on~!

Lakers were playing bad. Refs were ok, but some of the call were really not correct and need somebody to ref those refs.

Default Re: Refs?????????????????

it was a fairly evenly called game.
imo, if anyone got the benefit of the calls, it was the Lakers.

Laker D MUST improve, or they will not get past a number of teams.
Fisher's D is particularly soft.
