part of the game gang...lets not overlook we are not the only team to suffer injuries this year and the lakers will have to get through them just like everyone else...

Gasol's x-rays were negative so at most he'll be out for 2 weeks? That's not too bad. As long as he and Bynum are 100% ready for the playoffs and the Lakers manage to hold onto one of the top 4 spots, it'll be okay. Kobe just needs to start playing at a high level for the next 2 weeks. And Derek Fisher can't have 4-13 nights anymore.

I think we'll go 3-1 on this road trip

If we don't get Gasol back soon rather then waiting two weeks I would say goodby to the top 4 seed. We just needs to make the playoff and come out healhty and strong. This is part of the game.

Imagine if Kobe had elected to have the surgery a few weeks ago.

Actually, wait. First, remove all sharp objects within a 1/2 mile radius. THEN imagine if Kobe had had the surgery.

Although the idea of a Fish/Machine/Rad/Odom/Turiaf starting 5 makes me chuckle.

That was a close one.

I'm so gawdamn sick of these injuries, tbh. They're so f'n fustrating, especially when they can make us drop in the standings.

Well these are the games remaining on the Lakers schedule (for the next 2 weeks):

Lakers @ Houston
Lakers @ Dallas
Lakers @ Utah
Lakers vs Seattle
Lakers vs Golden State

Lakers @ Golden State
Lakers vs Charlotte
Lakers vs Memphis
Lakers vs Washington

The Lakers should win all these games so they'd have a 51-23 record.

After that in April Gasol and then Bynum will probably be coming back from their injuries so we'll be winning more games with them in the line-up.

Lakers vs Portland
Lakers vs Dallas
Lakers @ Sacramento

Lakers @ Portland
Lakers @ LA Clippers
Lakers vs New Orleans

Lakers vs San Antonio
Lakers vs Sacramento

The Lakers can still finish with a 57-25 record I don't think the Suns will have a better record than us so we should be able to hold onto one of the top 4 seeds.

Gasol should try to come back after exactly 2 weeks and not move that foot at all.

we're only 4.5 games away from missing the playoffs so we need to have some crazy performances and upsets the next few games.

NOOOOOOO! I'd rather have Farmar out there at center lol. I can't handle anymore Kwames and Smushs.

Actually we have great depth when healthy. Gasol, Bynum, Mihm, Mbenga, and Turiaf if we can afford to go small. Thats pretty good.

Come on what are the chances that your top 3 centers get injured....

EDIT: Frank, I love your post about Kobe and the sharp objects!
